Mole was spicy, sweet, and nutty, as it should be. Another thing that impressed me was how the servers and management jumped into action when a patron came in sick. She appeared to be dehydrated and couldn't keep anything down. They offered her soda, told her to feel free to lie down, and brought a waste basket. They showed sincere concern. I walked away with my belly and my heart full🌷”

“Reviewing a restaurant, Javiers DTLA. This is our 2nd time at the chain, 1st time at the downtown LA location Had a great experience having dinner here for a friend's birthday. We received great service. Our waitress was very attentive. We always had our cups filled and all staff was friendly. Food is delicious but not cost effective. We definitely chose this place for the ambiance and festive environment. We tried a few dishes including shrimp and enchiladas plates. Please know that dishes are a la cart so you will need to order sides if needed. Parking is difficult. They do have valet at the location but it's a busy side street across from the Crypto Arena so be aware. We parked at a parking garage directly next door to the restaurant. “Nice and fancy. Fantastic drinks and very savory food. Service with a smile. Honestly everything was wonderful except the automatic 18% tip plus tax for 3 ppl on a $340+ an extra tip. Oh yeah plus the parking $30w/validation $45w/out so don't forget to validate. Yeah its nice but damn!!! Life is expensive ...”

“Had an early dinner for 4, earlier today. Had the enchilada dungenous crab, lobster and shrimp, the carne tampiqueña which included a shrimp enchilada, a chicken taquito, refried beans, 8oz new york steak, the fideo del mar, included dungenous crab claws, shrimp, scallops, and the tablero which came with carnitas, aracherra skirt steak, guacamole, salsa, rice/refried beans. ----not impressed, way over priced for mexican rice and beans! The tomatillo sauce for the enchiladas way to acidy, would had preferred a serrano chile sauce instead, the salsa with the chips was actually good. The carnitas was plain bo taste, no sazon, not even salty of seared, or citrusy. The guac could use more onions and cilantro and lime juice and salt. Had to ask for a salt shaker. Again food was lacking sazon, flavor, sabor! We ordered desert and took about 30 minutes to bring out, had to even ask our waiter for an eta for our desert. Location sucks! Construction lanes closed, next to the graffiti plastered highrise abandoned buildings from the chinese developers. Volume of music was good not too loud, quiet and relaxin unlike other Javier's. Wish food would had been better tasting, for a group of 4 came out to $560.00”

“I want to let all know that this place in particular is more about money than service or caring about the good test or flavor. On Feb 14 we had a bad exp with the waiter. He was very arrogant and discriminatory. As soon as he approched to our table, he sharply started re-placing the forks & spoons on his way. He showed that he didn't like how the bass boy had placed them. Next I asked him for a glass of red and sweet 🍷. He inmediatelly said, "we don't have sweet wine, actually there is no red wine that is sewet." I tried agian & my request was kicked out & mocked bec he said, "the only sweet wine is Tinto Wine, the one for cooking." It was not my 1st time drinking a glass of red, sweet wine and not either my 1st time at a Javier Rest. I tried to nicely tell him that I had tried it before but again he said that it doesn't exist, and he offered white wine. I didn't want wine anymore but I gave that a try. He brough 2 for me to test but his attitued showed rudness. I didn't feel like wnated to chose something anymore, but I did. Then we asked for an entry. As soon as he brough the entry, he said, "that it's eaten with tortillas this way and the forks stayed this side.." We looked at him & I wanted to say, are you mocking at me? His attitued was definitely discriminatory this time. In my thoughts I was like, I didn't came for a class on how to use or hold a fork. It was an insult & not appropiate to say. He may say something if I would ask him how for that help. Plus we haven't touch any fork or spoon yet when he said that, so his comment was out of place, and said it based on our look. Later, another waiter brought us the desert menu and recommended us a special desert. We asked for that to another water because besides him 2 other waiters were serving us, but they were nice. Anyway, after a long time, he came back & asked if we wanted a desert. We told him that we asked for that special desert, and he inmediatley said, "we don't have that desert, we don't serve it today." We told him that the lady just offered it to us. He gave us another option but this time, I told him that I wanted to make sure & not go just for what he said. He went to ask and came back saying that they run out. I didn't want anything anymore, and I just asked him where he was from because at this point I was really upset. Eventhough he looked white, he said he was from DF, meaning Mexico D.F. I said ok, so why are you being so rude to us, the way you treated us, is discriminatory. He looked amazed. I went to ask for the manager & explained to him all these & offered an appology plus something else to compensate our very bad experience. I refused to get something and said, that my complaint is only with the hope to change that. I ask to maybe retrain him or if he doesn't like his job, to leave because this discrimination is really an insult and when someone treat people this way, it is because they have that discriminatory idea and rejection agaist other deep in their ❤️ and will bring it out anytime. We paid to another waiter because he did not came to our table anymore. I gave my tips to the bass boy who earlier had also complain about that same waiter of how he treat people in the back of the kitchen. Plus, infron of us he was telling to the bass boy that he didn't want to work with him but the bassboy said he was set to work for 4 hrs with him. The bass boy was very nice. Now we went back on Mother's Day, the waiter was nice but the surprised came at the end when we asked for the bill. We noticed that they already charged us more than $80.0 as service charge. We suspected that it was the tip charge but we asked. The manager confirmed that & said that the waiter should let us know ahead of time, but he didn't, so my husband requested them to take that charge out and he woul place a tips he consuder good. The manager got mad & said we had to pay it but we argued that it's ilegal to charge & we weren't notified @ the beggining as he said. Until he heard it was ilegal, he took it out. I talked. We gave a volunter tips which is gratitud not forced.”
