Mexican Coastal Seafood Tacos, Tostadas & Zarandeados Great bar and cocktails
“Came here for a second time and it was just as amazing! Our server Brittney was great and very attentive. The zarandeado fish with the refried beans on the side was the star of the show. We also really enjoy the jollita tostada and taco dumbo. The tamarindo paloma was strong but tasty. Can’t wait to come back and introduce more people to enjoy this food!”
“We had such a great experience here! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and it was the perfect spot for the four of us to enjoy a relaxed meal together. Everything felt fresh, welcoming, and easy. We’d definitely come back next time we’re in La Jolla!”
“La Jollita is a cute mexican restaurant in La Jolla that specializes in seafood. We had a great time trying their variety of dishes and cocktails. They were quite busy for mother’s day and they handed out flowers to the women which was so fun! Our waiter, Sebastian, was wonderful and noticed that the fish that came out at first was the wrong one. He seemed very attentive. Specifics about the dishes below: Surf and turf taco - yummy, very cheesy, delicious, make sure to add some of the salsa Rock shrimp - okay, not too crispy, very saucey, basically bang bang shrimp Guacamole - good flavor but the avocado is pulvarized so the super smooth texture through me a bit Tuna tostada - this was good but kinda basic. I added guac on top which helped. I cant believe reviews said this was a must order over the scallops! Scallops - wow these are GOOD, perfect amount of spice, salt, and citrus. This was one of the highlights for us! We are told it can sometimes sell out. Fish zarandeadros (we had a small one that was not on the menu since we didnt want enough for 2-3 people) - this was DELICIOUS. The marinade is so good and it was a big portion. The fish was also perfectly cooked and flakey. Highly recommend. Thus was definitely our favorite thing we had and we would definitely try the big one next time. Street candy paloma - very chamoy and tamarind, very smooth Mango foam with gin instead of tequila - this was good, but not sure the gin goes as well, i shouldve tried it as is. Next time I’ll try it with tequila Cherry pop spritz - very sweet like cherry syrup. Could have been fruitier. Overall a good drink though”
“What an amazing restaurant. While we went without reservations, they were able to sit us at the bar for an early afternoon snack. The staff was great, opening up two spots for us. The drinks were really tasty, very well thought out. The food was incredible. We ordered tacos and tostadas to simply try the place out, and WOW! The food is really top notch, super fresh, and high quality. We’ll be back with a reservation and to explore the menu in full. Superb new restaurant in La Jolla!”
“Really excellent food and service for a quirky restaurant with authentic Mexican dishes and flavors. Restaurant JUST opened this week after a short soft-open preparation and work up period. The staff is exceptionally attentive and the appetizer dishes are definitely sized to share. The octopus dish was fantastic as we're the side of refried beans. Each taco was really good and each person loved what they ordered (taco Dumbo, taco gubanerdor, and smoke tuna tacos). The restaurant has specialty cocktails that offer something fun for most palates. The Paloma was about sweet for our group taste and perhaps could be enlivened with a splash of tonic/soda water, but it was still a good cocktail. 10 out of 10 will go back and can't wait to try the larger fish entree's.”
