“Treating friends from New York to a meal at a the trustworthy restaurant Legal. The sunset and ocean view were simply breathtaking; words can never describe it! Lobster, Baked Stuffed: Three of us ordered a lobster weighing 1.5-1.75 pounds, totaling $74. The lobsters were of excellent quality--firm, plump, and sweet--and incredibly fragrant with butter. The scallops, shrimp, and batter stuffed in the belly were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich buttery flavor. Just like the ones we had at the Downtown Crossing location, as a long-established chain in Boston, their quality control is guaranteed. Our server, Kate, even helped us debone the lobsters with great skill, making the tip well worth it. Glidden Point Oyster: Oysters from the Glidden Point oyster farm in Maine, medium-sized, but extremely salty. Wellfleet Oyster: From Wellfleet, Massachusetts, these are said to be the most famous oysters in New England. They were on the smaller side, but the sweetness and freshness were truly outstanding. Paired with a sweet, sour, and spicy cocktail sauce, they're incredibly delicious--we ordered six more! Kate asked if we wanted dessert, and we said the oysters were dessert! Mussels, Organic: The mussels were of good quality and quite large. However, the white wine flavor was too strong; one sip felt like pure alcohol and fruit acidity. My friend said it wasn't as good as hers. New England Clam Chowder: The broth was rich and smooth, incredibly flavorful, with cream and butter that were fragrant but not greasy. The occasional potato chunks and small clams were a pleasant surprise. It's said to be an award-winning recipe, and it certainly lived up to its reputation.”
“Legal Sea Foods – Harborside was an amazing experience, especially sitting at the bar and enjoying the food, drinks, and view. The restaurant itself is very big, beautifully set up, and has an amazing view that makes the whole experience even better. The dishes were delicious and perfect for sharing. The crab cake sliders were flavorful and satisfying, the assorted oysters were fresh and refreshing, and the cocktail shrimp was also very good. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, which is exactly what you want from a seafood spot. The cocktails were especially impressive. The espresso martini, painkiller, and old fashioned were all well made, balanced, and enjoyable. They paired perfectly with the food and added to the overall experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. Overall, Legal Sea Foods – Harborside is definitely worth stopping by for great seafood, delicious cocktails, a beautiful view, and excellent service.”
“Our plan was to eat once at Legal Sea Foods during our trip… but the food had other plans. We ended up going twice in four days, which says a lot. We tried to sample “a few things” but quickly realized we wanted to try everything. The tuna watermelon tartare with tostones was a fun surprise, the sushi was super fresh, and yes—even the clam chowder lived up to Boston’s reputation. The swordfish though? Absolute star of the show. Special shoutout to Rita, our wonderfully entertaining chatterbox of a server who made us feel instantly welcome. Dinner with her felt like great food plus great company. We ordered several other dishes that were also delicious, but there’s not enough Google review space for all of it—just check the photos. Clearly, we liked it enough to come back before our trip was even over. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“We had a party of 13, and Legal Sea Foods at Seaport did a great job accommodating us with a very reasonable wait time. Our servers were fantastic, attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly throughout the night. The food was excellent, and the bill felt very reasonable for the quality we received. The only minor thing was that the beer could have been a little colder. The only disappointment was our experience with the hostess at the end of the meal. One of our entrées was significantly delayed, and while we were still waiting for it, we were asked to leave the table. We ended up taking that meal to go, even after spending nearly $1,000 as a group. It left a sour note on what had otherwise been a wonderful evening. With a little more training on handling situations like this, the experience would have been perfect. I would definitely return for the food and the outstanding service from the waitstaff.”
“Overall a nice experience and would return. Beautiful location looking out over the water with floor to ceiling windows so bright and airy. Bar was crowded when we arrived a little after four but rotated often. Happy appetizers were okay. Shrimp and scallops breaded nicely but both were slightly chewy. The margarita flight was okay if you want to try a few options but its a lot of ice and just okay in flavors. Having said that their more traditional drinks are well made. Clam chowder was good, not too thick but not runny either. Broth was tasty but clams were a little chewy. The sole meuniere was the stand out for me. Tender well cooked fish. I enjoyed the flavor and would absolutely order again. Rice and peas were a perfect accompaniment for such a light fish. Salt and vinegar crusted cod also good fish was well cooked but didn’t really get a salt and vinegar hit from it.”
