Tuna with burrata was a first for us and we’re glad we took our server Ben’s recommendations. Mussels were tasty, but didn’t stand out like the rest of the dishes. Limoncello and olive oil cake for dessert were good choices. We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu. Ben was a good balance of checking in on us and giving us space, which we really enjoyed.”

Vincenzo Montecuollo, the manager and sommelier, greeted us like we weren’t just another reservation, but more like we were family. Within minutes, appetizers started coming out compliments of the chef, who then came by the table himself. Not long after, General Manager Michael Symmons stopped in to say hello. None of it felt forced. Just genuine, effortless hospitality. The night settled into a rhythm that’s hard to find. We ordered a bottle of wine that arrived in a Riedel decanter called “The Swan,” and it turned a simple pour into something simply elegant. Something you stop and appreciate. It’s a small detail, but that’s kind of the point here. Everything feels considered. The food backed it all up. Every course was spot on. Clean, flavorful, and paced perfectly so you never felt rushed or overwhelmed. My wife is gluten-free, and they handled it seamlessly, no awkward substitutions, no drop in quality. Just great food, done right. What really stayed with us, though, was the feeling. There’s a warmth here that you can’t fake. You’re not just being taken care of, you’re being welcomed in. It’s the kind of place where you sit back at some point and realize you don’t want the night to end. And thankfully, it doesn’t have to. After dinner, we made our way into Segreto, the hidden speakeasy behind the restaurant. Completely different energy in the best way. Dim lighting, live jazz, intimate without trying too hard. This is where you order another bottle, slow things down, and just enjoy where you are. One piece of advice: don’t skip dessert. The white chocolate pistachio tiramisu is unreal. It’s the perfect way to close out the night. We’ve spent a lot of time at Lombardi’s Frisco location over the years, holidays, birthdays, all of it. So when we had the chance to try Houston, we jumped on it. It didn’t just live up to expectations; it reminded us why we keep coming back. It’s not just a great restaurant. It’s a place that knows how to make a night feel special.”
