Lutie's Garden Restaurant features ingredient-forward fare prepared with an elevated approach, influenced by our head chef's experiences cooking in acclaimed restaurants around the world. The ever-changing, seasonal menus of Texas heritage cuisine spotlight local farmers and ranchers and reflect the chefs’ celebration of ingredients prepared with an understated simplicity. Located on the storied architectural landmark, Commodore Perry Estate, the restaurant's name is a nod to the estate matriarch Nannie Lewette “Lutie” Perry. The experience melds warm hospitality with the convivial spirit of the property’s Jazz Age legacy, transporting guests to a contemporary garden retreat overlooking lush estate grounds. Walk In's Welcome.
“Lutie’s is seriously one of the prettiest spots I’ve been to in Austin! From the garden entrance to the patio views, everything just feels so thoughtful and elevated. All the wine selections were spot on and the food was incredible! The crudo was easily the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth, and the pork belly was so good it was borderline emotional. 🤤 But the real highlight? Andre, Kate, and Reilly behind the bar. Easily the best bartenders everrrrr, so personable, fun, and made the whole experience feel special. Not gonna lie…I almost wish I hadn’t even brought my date because the staff was way more interesting and entertaining 😂 10/10, would come back for the vibes and the bartenders and oysters!”
“Came on a solo date and I was treated right. There was no single flavor or dish that wow’d me, but I came for Monday happy hour and enjoyed the signature bread, a squash salad, a complementary shrimp, and apple cider ice cream for 20$ That is different. The ambience is best for a family meal or friend group celebration. A date night as well, but certainly on the more intimate side. Take note that the interior is dim. The gardens are spacious but quiet. The vibe walking up feels like Texifornia.”
“Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was one of the best culinary experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredibly attentive and highly personalized, making us feel truly welcomed. The food was outstanding exceptional quality, beautifully prepared, and absolutely exquisite in every detail. Each dish reflected care, creativity, and a high standard of excellence. A special mention to Alex, our server, who spoke to us in Spanish. Being able to communicate in our own language made a huge difference and made us feel especially comfortable and well cared for. His attention and professionalism truly elevated our experience. What meant the most to me is that the restaurant is pet-friendly. Being able to celebrate my birthday with my dog by my side made the day truly special. The fact that they even offer a menu for dogs is something I deeply appreciate it speaks volumes about their thoughtfulness and care. This restaurant is a true highlight of the hotel, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable and meaningful dining experience.”
“I highly recommend making a reservation at Lutie’s—it's absolutely worth it. From the moment you arrive, the team welcomes you warmly, and the atmosphere is exceptional. They also offer the option to dine on the patio, which is perfect if you're visiting with your four-legged friend. I went based on the chef’s recommendation and tried eight different dishes, each one offering a small tasting of their impressive menu. I also chose the “Around the World” wine pairing, which included about seven glasses from different regions, each beautifully matched to its corresponding dish. It was an outstanding experience. Lutie’s is a wonderful choice for a romantic dinner, with incredible service, exquisite food, and a truly special ambiance. Highly recommended.”
“My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was that my dinner plate was chipped all around the rim. It wasn’t just one small chip—it was covered with chips along the entire edge. In addition, both dinner plates were heavily scratched, making them look old and poorly maintained. After I shared my experience, I learned something that made the situation even more concerning. A friend of mine who works in the restaurant and hospitality industry explained that chipped plates are considered a serious hygiene issue. She told me: ‘A chipped plate is a massive biological hazard. Once the protective glaze is broken, that raw, porous ceramic absorbs moisture and organic matter like a sponge. No commercial dishwasher in the world can sanitize a deep crack or a ragged edge. You can get anything from e.coli to staphylococcus bacteria.’ I honestly didn’t know this before. If I had known that eating from a chipped plate could pose a potential health risk, I would never have eaten the meal that was served to me on that plate. What makes this even more disappointing is that this is supposed to be a high-end restaurant, not a cheap diner. Our bill for two people was around $340, so I expected much higher standards and attention to detail. Serving food on damaged and worn-out plates at this price point is simply unacceptable. We chose this restaurant for a special celebration, and I expected a much better overall experience. I hope the restaurant replaces its damaged tableware and reconsiders whether the portion sizes reflect the prices they charge.”
