Jeffrey's Restaurant & Bar has been an Austin fine dining institution since 1975. In 2012 the restaurant closed for a major renovation and was reopened by McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality. The legendary restaurant, nestled in the Clarksville neighborhood just west of downtown, features a lively bar and three distinct dining rooms. The menus, from executive chef Mark McCain, features dry-aged prime steaks, updated classic fine dining, and locally sourced produce. The award-winning wine list, one of the largest and most diverse in Texas, features highly-sought after vintages from Old and New World producers. Private dining in the Napoleon Room and The Apartment is available for special events. Valet service is offered. The charming neighborhood location, old world service & multiple private dining options make Jeffrey's a true Austin gem. Jeffrey's was named “Top 10 Best New Restaurants” in the country by Bon Appetit magazine in 2013.
“Very, very good. I had been meaning to try Jeffrey’s for some time and am wishing I had sooner. The steak was outstanding and everything that touched the table was at least a 9/10. The wine selection is second to few in Austin and the service is impeccable. Highly recommend for a nice night out, date night, etc… it’s pricey for sure - but it’s worth it for the quality of both food and experience. I can see why this place is loved by so many.”
“My experience at Jeffrey’s was exceptional from beginning to end. The atmosphere is elegant, warm, and perfect for a special occasion or a nice dinner. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. The service was outstanding—attentive, professional, and friendly without ever feeling rushed. The staff made us feel welcome and ensured everything was perfect throughout the evening. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Austin, I highly recommend Jeffrey’s. It’s one of the best restaurants in the city, and I will definitely be coming back.”
“I came here with my boyfriend for a birthday celebration, and I can’t say enough about this restaurant. From start to finish, we had an incredible experience with every dish hitting the spot. Started off with some delightful appetizers—each bite was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The ambiance was warm yet elegant, and the service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing. We had a perfectly cooked steak and a seafood dish that was out of this world. The attention to detail made the birthday celebration feel extra special. This will be a night we will remember forever.”
“Jeffrey’s has been a regular stop for us, and Easter brunch added a new dimension to an already well-established favorite. Everything about the experience felt intentional. The brunch menu struck exactly the right balance, familiar enough to feel like a proper Sunday meal, but with enough creativity to keep every course interesting. Nothing felt forced or overwrought. Just confident, well-executed food. The drinks program is equally impressive. Whether you’re going mimosas or something more creative, the bar delivers. And the desserts, genuinely divine. The kind that make you reconsider whether you actually needed to save room. What elevates Jeffrey’s above the crowd, though, is the service. Impeccable is the right word. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being precious. You feel like a guest, not a table to turn. Austin has no shortage of places competing for “best in the city,” but Jeffrey’s has earned that conversation. We keep coming back for a reason, and Easter brunch only confirmed it.”
“Jeffrey’s was the highlight of Austin. I could honestly go every day. The service is impeccable, the team is on point, and the whole experience feels elevated without trying too hard. The margarita is incredible, and the wine selection is outstanding—especially on Sundays when bottles are 50% off. The steaks are unreal. The Wagyu New York strip was perfectly cooked, and the filet had amazing flavor. The mushrooms are a must‑order, and the fries are thick, crispy, and so good. We started with the truffle deviled eggs, which were spot‑on and the perfect first bite. The only miss for me was the desserts, which didn’t quite match how amazing the rest of the meal was. Overall, Jeffrey’s delivers on every level and is a must‑visit.”
