MIDA by Chef Douglass William's is now open on East Boston's waterfront. Our James Beard Nominated restaurant group is situated directly on the edge of the pier with panoramic views of the downtown Boston Skyline. The restaurant is surrounded by the water on three sides with a massive patio that is perfect for date night and large groups at all hours of the day. Vaulted ceilings, sprawling windows, and a gorgeous lighting profile make this location the perfect destination for all occasions. MIDA East Boston also features a 25 seat bar that is open for walk-ins seven days a week. We are thrilled to be a part of this neighborhood and cannot wait to welcome you into our home. XOXO MIDA
“Great place to enjoy gorgeous views of Boston while enjoying a delicious meal and drinks. Their focaccia bread was so good!”
“Visiting town and my friend wanted to go here for his bday dinner. The food was awesome, the only thing I didnt like was that the calamari and clams had fried lemons in it, I wasnt expecting that. I had the short rib lasagna and the tropicale drink 🔥. My friend had the shrimp carbonara which i also tried and enjoyed. I would definitely come here again, great views, nice vibe, good service (Gunner did his thing). 👍🏾👍🏾”
“Great food, views, and service! Awesome big windows for seeing Boston across the water. Loved the insalata mista, prosciutto and ricotta, bucatini all' amatriciana, and chicken carbonara!”
“MIDA is one of those restaurants where the view competes with the food for your attention. Sitting along the East Boston waterfront, the dining room is filled with natural light during the day and offers sweeping views of the Boston skyline that make it feel equally suited for date nights, celebrations, or long dinners with friends. The space feels polished but relaxed, balancing modern Italian restaurant energy with the kind of atmosphere that encourages lingering over multiple courses. The menu focuses on Italian comfort food with an elevated touch, and the pizzas and pastas are some of the biggest reasons people return. Fresh pasta appears throughout the menu, with dishes ranging from rich, comforting classics to more creative seasonal offerings. The rock shrimp carbonara, gnocchi, and short rib lasagna frequently stand out, showcasing house-made pasta paired with deeply developed sauces and generous flavors. The pizza program leans toward thin-crust Italian-style pies, offering a lighter complement to some of the richer pasta dishes while still feeling substantial enough to anchor a meal. Service consistently feels attentive and welcoming, especially given the restaurant's popularity. The restaurant can become lively and energetic during peak dinner hours, particularly when the dining room fills with guests taking advantage of the waterfront setting, but the overall experience remains focused on hospitality and creating a memorable evening. MIDA works especially well for occasions where you want both atmosphere and food to deliver. Whether you're visiting for a multi-course dinner, sharing a few plates with friends, or simply enjoying pasta with one of the city's best waterfront views, MIDA offers a dining experience that feels both comfortable and special.”
“The ambience here is excellent. Stunning views of the Boston skyline, and I can only imagine how gorgeous the outdoor seating will be once the weather picks up. A heads up though: parking is a real challenge, so arriving at least 10 minutes before your reservation is a must. Service was slow. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and this was a packed Wednesday evening. The cocktails, despite the glowing reviews, were decent but not remarkable. I’ve had better in Boston. The food, however, is where this place earns its reputation. We tried several dishes and were impressed across the board. The pasta in mushroom broth was cooked perfectly, the pizza had a beautiful char, and the focaccia was so buttery it practically melted. The arancini was a standout too, though the portion size felt a little small for the price. A gorgeous spot with great food and views. Finish the night with a walk nearby and you’ll have no regrets.”
