Momiji is a hand-crafted Japanese restaurant located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. Our menu features sushi, omakase and other traditional Japanese foods prepared from great Northwest ingredients. Our courtyard will be an oasis in the bustling neighborhood.
“Momiji was a fantastic weeknight sushi dinner! We grabbed some bites before going to a comedy show nearby and it was the perfect pick. Service was helpful and quick (love free edamame) and the menu had plenty of interesting options. The actual sushi ranged from above average to delicious and our drinks were quite good. For sure would come back!”
“Serene sushi spot! We ordered the Geisha, Hottie and Shrimp Tempura rolls, though they have a wide variety to choose from. Calamari was possibly the best we’ve ever had - not too fried and seasoned to perfection. The outdoor garden with seating is a peaceful touch!”
“If your traveling solo or with friends this place is definitely need to check out. Super friendly staff and welcoming. The food was tasteful and just enough to have (or share). I would definitely come back!! I was traveling solo and sat by the bar. But I enjoyed watching them making the drinks!!”
“While exploring Capitol Hill we found Momiji on a Monday afternoon and made reservations for the first available happy hour slot and we were not disappointed. We are grateful we made a reservation as we were among many ready to enjoy curated cocktails and delicious sushi. The happy hour menu is well worth the visit, but for a more comprehensive experience order a roll or two from dinner menu. All of the rolls were outstanding along we found the Mango Tango roll did not want to stay together although it was very yummy. Before we were seated, we were advised they have a 90-minute policy. That was plenty of time to savor and not feel rushed. The service was great. Our server was attentive while not helicoptering our table. We will return to Momiji whether it is for happy hour or not. The quality of food and service demands another try.”
“The food and cocktails tasted fresh and balanced as they were delightfully presented. Although the restaurant was sizable with a huge dining room in the back, the clever layout and lighting gave our little bar table by the front door an intimate and understated feel. That elegance made the food pop with color and underlaid every delicious bite. Momiji had both very traditional Japanese dishes and some surprising combinations that were unusual and turned out to be innovative flavors that were in harmony with their fresh ingredients. Not your typical sushi. Our server was very sweet and enthusiastically attentive. I could tell that the rest of the staff were mentoring her and helping her with her in the front bar area. Everyone helped out from the bartender to the manager, Lawrence, who stopped by with part of the order to chat with us about the food and service. He was especially attentive and respectful to the seniors in the dining room, walking one of them back to her table, even though dinner service was in full swing. We must’ve come on a good night. We thought we’d have a quiet dinner on a stormy Tuesday night. But we got a live performance by a professional mariachi troupe that started in the bar and moved between the tables into the back dining room. What an absolute treat after daylight savings took back that hour and made 6:30 pitch dark when the Seattle rain started to fall in earnest again. I had a blast after a gloomy December day. They opened a location in Redmond too by the light rail station. I must try that the next time I am there.”
