“Had a fantastic dinner at Motek Flatiron. Everything was outstanding from start to finish. The restaurant is beautiful, the vibe is energetic and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were excellent. We were a party of three, and this is definitely a restaurant where sharing plates is part of the experience. For starters, we ordered the Spicy Greek Feta, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor, topped with roasted bell peppers, paprika, and Aleppo pepper for the perfect balance of smokiness and heat. The Crispy Cauliflower was a standout, perfectly crisp and coated in a delicious harissa honey glaze that delivered just the right amount of sweet heat. The Basket of Lollipops was another favorite, featuring tender chicken wings paired with dates and harissa honey, creating an incredible sweet and savory combination. We also loved the Crunchy Cabbage salad, topped with crispy shallots, toasted almonds, and a refreshing mint honey vinaigrette that added great texture and brightness to the meal. For our mains, we shared the Beef Kufta, which was flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned and Branzino fish of the day that was prepared and served in a light lemon sauce with vegetables and rice. It was fresh, delicate, and absolutely delicious. A memorable dining experience with exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and warm hospitality. 😊🍸🐟✨❤️”
“Amazing experience Great value for money and experience. Very beautifully designed, and this place offers Israeli food at the highest level. You won't find this type of flavors here in Manhattan. Definitely will recommend. Only little downside is the poor acoustics.”
“My first visit to Motek and it was out of this world. One of my best dining experiences in a long time. First, the service. I wish I’d remembered her name, but my waitress was attentive and very patient with the million menu questions that I had. The vibe is great, good music, not too loud. The star of the show was the food though. I had the hummus with roasted eggplant and an egg, which came with laffa. The laffa was pillowy, with the perfect chew. The hummus was smooth perfection, the toppings full of flavor. For dessert I had the halva sundae- black sesame ice cream topped with halva, silan and candied pecans. The combination of flavors and textures were divine! I can’t wait to stop by again and t try more menu items.”
“Had a really great experience at Motek. We tried the oven pita Turkish and pastrami, hand cut za’atar fries, and matboucha, everything was delicious. The Turkish oven pita was amazing, it had pomegranate and lemon, so it was both sweet and tangy. Definitely the star of the menu, I highly recommend it. The pastrami oven pita was also good but a bit heavier compared to the Turkish one. As someone who is Turkish, I can say the flavors were very well done and high quality. The place has a beautiful interior and such a nice vibe. Also the staff were super kind and attentive. When we arrived there was no wait, but it was still quite busy, so I would recommend making a reservation, especially for weekends. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good Mediterranean spot.”
“Let me preface this by saying that the food (or atleast what we were able to consume) was good, but the hygiene and service could be improved. Went in with my wife as a walk-in on a busy Saturday for lunch, got seated within 10-15 minutes at the bar. I ordered the Roasted Eggplant Hummus as an appetizer, Lamb Shawarma for my main and my wife ordered the Pastrami oven pita. Hummus came out pretty quickly, but there was a bit of a gap before we got our mains. Service was also just average, maybe because the restaurant was packed. The hummus was good - creamy, savory, flavorful and the roasted eggplant gave the dish a twist. The lamb shawarma was also very flavorful, seasoned well and the sauce was also good. My wife only had about 1/5 of the pastrami, as she noticed there was a strand of hair on the meat. We informed the waitress about our concern, and she took the pastrami plate to the manager, after which there was no communication as to how the issue would be resolved. We found out in the end that the pastrami would be removed from our bill, but neither the waitress nor the manager asked my wife if she wanted to get another plate or order something else. Good thing the lamb shawarma was a pretty good portion and I shared it with her, otherwise she wouldn't have had anything else to eat for lunch apart from the appetizer. As an aside, we also noticed that one of the crew members preparing / handling the food kept putting the small pieces of printed paper / order tickets on top of some of the food / bread - I'm not sure how hygienic that is or if that is standard practice. Overall, we probably would return and give this restaurant another chance, however there is definitely room for improvement in the food hygiene / safety aspect as well as service.”
