Nobu Grand Wailea Maui

“We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He patiently explained everything and answered all our questions. Food was excellent. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The miso black cod met the hype. We loved the fried purple Okinawan potatoes. We also liked the crispy rice with spicy tuna; the presentation was creative and unique. The squid “pasta” was surprisingly tasty. My son loved his mocktail: a lychee passionfruit drink. It was basically juice served in a fancy way but it made him happy. For dessert, we got the Kona coffee tres leches cake and date cake. We liked the date cake more and would recommend it over the tres leches. They brought a complimentary black sesame mochi ice cream with a candle and decorated plate to acknowledge my husband’s birthday. The restaurant is gorgeous. We asked for indoor seating and they seated us right next to the open patio. It was a nice place with a great view of the sunset but it was very windy so we asked to move farther inside. The host staff was very accommodating. Overall, we had a great experience.”

“We celebrated our 34th Anniversary here, Brandon was our waiter, assisted by Enzo, both made a spectacular evening more special! We had outdoor seating with an amazing view of the sunset, we ordered the Omakase with the Sake pairings. We 10000% enjoyed this meal, from the flavors, presentation, to the stories of each course shared by Brandon, to the sake pairing, not one thing missed the mark. This was a bucket list item for me and exceeded my expectations from the second we checked in! The entire staff deserves tremendous kudos. We appreciated the surprise extra desert at the end!”

“Fantastic experience at Nobu Maui! I was a little worried going in because some reviews mentioned poor service, but that wasn’t our experience at all. Everyone we interacted with was great, and our server, I believe his name was Seth, was especially excellent. The food was outstanding across the board. I really enjoyed the Japanese cuisine with the Peruvian influence, which made the dishes feel unique. Our favorite dish was the Yellowtail Jalapeño, which absolutely lived up to the hype. The date cake dessert was spectacular and was a perfect way to end the meal. Everything we had was high quality and memorable. We left impressed and would absolutely come back.”

“We had an incredible dinner at Nobu, made even more special by watching the sun set as we dined. Every dish was a hit. The Wagyu Japanese dumplings were my favorite, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The roasted cauliflower was so good it left you wanting more with every bite. We also loved the Wagyu and tuna tacos. On top of the amazing food, the service was absolutely phenomenal.”

“I had high expectations for this restaurant given Nobu's reputation and pedigree, but unfortunately the service did not match the premium price point. Having dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants, I'm accustomed to staff taking the time to explain each dish, its preparation, and what makes it unique. Here, the service felt rushed, as if the staff were simply trying to say what was necessary and move on to the next table. That said, the food itself was very good. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and several dishes were enjoyable. However, at this level and price point, the overall dining experience matters just as much as the food. I was expecting a more attentive and engaging service experience that would elevate the meal and make it feel truly special. Overall, the meal was good, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with the Nobu name.”
