“Love this place and our awesome waiter Cesar who elevated the fabulous dinning experience with his personality & knowledge of dishes and wines. 8 drinks, 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 sides and 2 desserts later - we left feeling happier than a clam :)”
“One of the Best Seafood Spots in NYC! From the moment we walked in, the hostess set the stage for an amazing dinner experience—so professional and pleasant. The service was top-notch, with an incredibly attentive staff. A special shout-out to the gentleman from Bangladesh, who made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. I dined with a friend, and we started with oysters—fresh from the ocean (pun totally intended!) and absolutely delicious. For my main course, I had the Pandora fish as a substitute for red snapper, and it was outstanding, beautifully presented. My friend chose the black cod, another excellent choice with incredible flavor and freshness. The restaurant has the vibe of a high-end spot, reminiscent of its Michelin star in 2022. I’ll happily recommend Oceans to friends and family visiting from out of town as a fantastic option for something special beyond the usual holiday dinner. Can’t wait to go back—this is a must-visit!”
“Oceans is such a beautifully crafted space to dine at for a date, family occasions, and any type of celebration. While our waiter wasn’t super attentive, the rest of the wait staff picked up the slack and made sure our time comfortable. The filet mignon is a must and so is the lobster roll and the halibut. The drinks were a 10/10 and the rocketman sushi roll is to die for. Definitely would come again!”
“The bread before the meal is quite delicious. Although it is not hot, I like the olive oil and butter very much. The milky fragrance and the fragrance of olive oil are quite strong, but it's a pity that I forgot to ask which one it is. I ordered 6 oysters, which are from the east and west coasts respectively. It is obvious that the east coast is more delicious, sweeter and cleaner. The west coast will have a little fishy smell. And their oysters are really small, so small that the shell is not as big as the sauce plate, which is a little outrageous. Black-headed grouper is good. It's quite fresh, with a moist taste and no smell. The aged steak ordered at the end is really a little amazing. I have eaten some aged steak before, but the flavor of this restaurant is more layered. It has a strong milky fragrance, and at the same time, it has a little fermented taste similar to bacon, but it is not very strong. It is the kind of feeling that you just remember. The degree of cooking is well controlled, it tastes very tender, and the seasoning is not too salty. The vegetables with it are a little sour, which can relieve the greasy, which is quite a plus. Overall, this meal is a little unexpected. If you come for seafood, this restaurant is good, but if you order the aged steak, it is easier to leave an impression.”
“The food is absolutely delicious. Their filet mignon is one of the best in NYC, and this was my third visit because of it. Their seafood is incredibly fresh, and the black cod is just so good. But the service… I was expecting much better for a restaurant of this quality. It’s almost sad that they seem to have plenty of staff, yet it still feels understaffed. It’s hard to get ahold of a server for anything except when placing the initial order and when paying the bill. I noticed other tables having the same issue, trying to flag down any server who walked by to clear plates or order something extra. Once the food arrives, the servers seem to pay far less attention to the tables. We found ourselves trying to catch our server’s eye just to ask for something, and eventually we gave up on ordering more. I revisited solely because of the food which was worth it. After three tries, I think that’s enough. I don’t think I’ll be back.”
