Established in 1987, Piatti offers finely crafted fresh Italian cuisine. The soul of the menu is our housemade pasta that we roll, cut and cook by hand everyday. Offering a fresh take on the neighborhood Italian trattoria, Piatti combines a warm, inviting atmosphere, seamless service and an immersive market experience so you can enjoy Piatti at home.
“I can’t believe I didn’t take a picture of the Chicken Marsala! 😭 that was the show stopper here and the Carpaccio! The best thing about this meal was our waitress Ana. She was amazing, she recommended the perfect wine to go with our food, and checked up on us frequently. Thank you for the lovely experience, we will be back in August 😋”
“If you are looking for an amazing date night or even a great family dinner, Piatti Laguna Beach is a must. We went on a Monday night and had no problem finding parking right in front of the restaurant, which already felt like a win in Laguna. From start to finish, everything was done right. Donnie, the general manager, was extremely extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu and helping us choose our dishes. His recommendations were spot on and made the entire experience even better. Everyone there, from the moment we walked in, was so friendly and welcoming. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. The restaurant itself is very well kept, warm, and inviting. The ambiance is perfect. It truly feels like pure Italian family vibes. We started with the octopus and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. It came with puréed mushrooms and thick sliced mushrooms that complemented the dish beautifully. Easily one of the best octopus dishes I have had. We shared a bottle of wine and also ordered an espresso martini and an Old Fashioned. And yes, they serve Old Fashioneds with the proper large ice cube for anyone who appreciates a well made cocktail. Attention to detail matters. For food, we shared the spicy pizza and the portion was very generous. It is large enough to be your own meal or perfect for sharing and still feeling satisfied. They are known for their Bolognese pasta for a reason. It is made with over a dozen ingredients and takes overnight to prepare. You can taste the care and depth in every bite. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. We also ordered the Linguini del Mare, which was cooked to perfection. The sauce was phenomenal, and they brought out fresh bread on the side so you could dip straight into it. Do not skip that. Finish with dessert. You have to try their gelatos and fresh baked cookies. Authentic homemade pasta, an excellent wine selection, great cocktails, incredible service, and an atmosphere that works just as well for date night as it does for a family dinner. Highly recommend. It is absolutely worth it.”
“Piatti is an absolute standout, and I honestly wish I could give them six out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This restaurant delivers an experience that goes far beyond a typical Italian meal, and it deserves every bit of praise. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a place you immediately want to recommend to everyone you know. The space itself is incredibly charming. The design is thoughtful, warm, and aesthetically beautiful without feeling overdone. Every detail, from the lighting to the décor, creates an atmosphere that is both inviting and memorable. It’s the kind of restaurant where you instantly feel comfortable, yet still excited to be there. Happy hour at Piatti is another huge win. The pricing is fantastic, especially considering the quality of the food. The fries were exceptional—perfectly crisp and full of flavor. The pizza, though, completely stole the show. It’s genuinely the best I’ve had in California, and I’ve found myself thinking about it long after the meal ended. The service deserves its own praise. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Every interaction felt genuine, and it was clear that the team takes pride in creating a great experience. Combined with the prime location, the overall vibe makes the restaurant even more of a standout. Piatti is truly a must-visit. Whether you’re stopping by for happy hour or settling in for a full dinner, it delivers on every front. I can’t wait to return, and I’ll be recommending it to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a beautifully designed space that feels special from start to finish.”
“Came here for lunch on a Tuesday around 11:30am. We were the only ones in the whole place for a majority of the time! We sat outside on the patio which was really nice and shaded but also trapped the heat. We started with the whipped ricotta - so different and lovely. Lemony, pesto-y deliciousness! Our waiter also let us know to ask whenever we needed more bread which was refreshing to hear instead of feeling bad asking for more or getting charged. Would absolutely order this again. Next we had the Bianca pizza. This has preserved lemon as well and was quite refreshing and different than most pizzas. We shared between two of us and went home with leftovers (probably because we also had the bread w the whipped burrata). Would order again. We ended with the affogato which was the perfect dessert. Amazingly delicious, sweet but not too heavy. They offer a happy hour and wine Wednesdays as well. Will definitely be back.”
“Solid Italian on Ocean Blvd I visited Piatti for the first time and here’s my take: The Food: I ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro with Meatballs. The standout element was definitely the distinct and flavorful Italian red sauce. The meatballs were good—tender and well-cooked—though I noticed they weren't completely "soaked through" with the sauce. A point to note: My entree did not include complimentary bread and oil. About halfway through my meal, the waiter did come by to offer fresh Romano cheese, which I accepted and it added a nice touch to the dish. The Vibe: I opted to sit in the outdoor courtyard, and the ambiance was wonderful. The sound of the running fountain nearby was very relaxing, and the overall noise level was low enough to easily have a conversation. I did note that the indoors appeared to be newly remodeled. Service & Facilities: Service was standard, and the men's restroom was adequate. The Price: My total bill came to $40 (including an NA beer and tip). Final Thought: Piatti offers a great atmosphere and good food, especially if you love a distinct red sauce. It’s worth checking out if you’re in the area!”
