A neighborhood favorite since 1995, the family owned and operated Pastaria & Market serves traditional Italian cuisine featuring house made pasta and sauces, complimented by local and Italian wines
“I've only been in the US for a couple of months, let alone just a few weeks in California. My cousin told me about The Pastaria & Market, how it brought him back to a childhood place that served some of the best aglio olio he's ever had. The look in his eyes alone told me I had to come here at least once. I can't say I find myself having any regrets about making that decision. Service was beyond excellent, our waiter truly went above and beyond in the mere acts of taking our orders and serving food. The food, although pictured here with a less than flattering amount of cheese, was just about the best pasta I've ever had in a long time. To top it all off, we had pepper served to us on a comically large pepper grinder. I really don't know how else you could have added more to this. I really wished I had mustered the courage to give all the staff a standing ovation, I will have to live the rest of my days with that regret. While my cousin thinks the the aglio olio is almost there, I beg to differ. This is absolutely a place to stop by when you're in the area. Don't miss it.”
“The perfect spot to enjoy al fresco dinner on our very first visit to Los Gatos. The homemade pasta was delicious and paired perfectly with wine and a lovely patio atmosphere. Highly recommend!”
“It's a amazing hidden gem in Los Gatos. Really good dishes: soups, pastas, tiramisu. Good portion size. Servers are the best in Bay area, better than fine dining restaurants, helping, assisting, caring. We really enjoyed our time here.”
“Lovely little Italian restaurant, with very attentive and friendly personnel. Our waitperson was Donna. The atmosphere is cozy and the seasonal was very festive. My friend and I visited on Wednesday for lunch. We were promptly seated. We shared the Fall Salad which was beautifully prepared, and served dressed. We also shared the Seafood Linguine. There was plenty of.seafood to share, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The cream sauce was delicious and did not overpower the seafood flavor. The wine menu included a nice selection. We shared some champagne and took home the bottle. I also ordered the caramel apple spritzer as "dessert". It was not as flavorful as I had hoped, tasting mainly of spritzer. The caramel, had it been mixed in, would have elevated the drink. Would definitely return for another visit.”
“Disappointed! This food had very little to do with Italian food:( Margarita pizza was flat and old, not freshly made ! Gnocchi was with too many flavors and distractions The only decent food were the salads…”
