“Service was perfect and the rooftop is very nice and less congested than many of the other rooftops, due to location. RIU Rooftop is unique. We had a family gathering and my teens loved it. My only concern is that the menu is limited, so if you have a picky eater, feed them before you arrive or after you leave. We reviewed the menu before we got there so we were prepared.”
“Amazing time, great view and outstanding service! The service was impeccable from start to finish. Lester greeted us upon entrance and was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire night. Mia also took great care of us and even offered blankets for the cold (I was sooo cold 🥶)which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere, the views, and especially the service were outstanding. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Chicago!”
“Mia is an excellent host, she made sure we got our drinks and food promptly and were ok with everything, checking in on us thru the evening. The sky view with lights are beautiful and several guests keep taking pictures of the panoramic views, they provide blankets to keep you warm if the fire burners are not enough. Burgers, salmon and chicken satay were are tasting great. The desserts - cheese cake, brownie with ice cream were also good, a bit warm brownie would have made it to the top. Overall a great experience.”
“My drink was nice, and the waiters were very friendly. However, keep in mind that a reservation is likely necessary if you plan to visit on the weekend. I first tried going on Saturday at 8:00 PM, but they were fully booked. Since I was staying at the hotel, I went back to my room and waited until around 11:20 PM. By that time, there were some seats available, so I was able to stay for about 30 minutes before they closed.”
“Experience/Environment: Ambiance is 13/10 for sure. We were staying at the hotel, so naturally a visit here was inevitable. The views from up here were immaculate. Seating gave sophisticated lounge vibes. Low booths along the walls, glass fire pits in the middle, high tops bordering the edge of building. It was nice. The clear box you can stand on and look down into the street was both scary and exhilarating at the same time. Food: I was really excited to try the octopus lol. It looked great, but it tasted like nothing. It wasn’t seasoned well and I was hoping for more of a crispy style and it was soft. Other sad part, the potatoes weren’t cooked all the way through. Maybe because it was close to last call? Idk. The waitress and chef were kind enough to switch it out for me for wings instead. The French fries were fried to perfection. It was windy outside but the inside was still warm and crispy. Wings were good too. It came with celery, carrots, over romaine lettuce. And honesty, I would even eaten the romaine like a salad but it has a sweet dressing on it that I didn’t like. Everything was great tho. The buffalo sauce was great. The wings were little and perfect. I’m not a fan of the steroid size gigantic wings. And all the places we went to in Chicago, wings were normal sized. Chi Town is doing it right in the wing world. We had the cookie ice cream today. The cookie is thinner than we expected but you can’t go wrong if you want something sweet. Service: Mia was super sweet and nice. She was the only person working the whole floor so to be expected if water took a little longer. She checked in when she could. NTT [[Next Time Try]]: Likely the ceviche. That was what I wanted to originally but I went with the octopus and potatoes and when that didn’t work out, I didn’t want to risk it lol.”
