“Came here for the early evening before 6pm menu. Without any doubt this is the best value for money when it comes to good food in Dublin. The scallops were plump and perfectly caramelized. Monk fish and sole were delicious. The portions of the chocolate mousse were little on the large side at the end of a filling dinner. Lime tart was authentic. I ordered a side portion of beans but there was plenty of veg in the main dish. Highly recommend trying the oysters if you are into shellfish.”
“We had a wonderful dinner at SOLE Seafood & Grill in Dublin. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the Captain Seafood Tower was outstanding. The oysters, prawns, lobster, crab, and mussels were all delicious and beautifully presented. A special thank you to Patrick, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and made our experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was elegant, the food was excellent, and the dessert was the perfect finish to a memorable meal. We highly recommend SOLE to anyone visiting Dublin.”
“A very unique and genuinely pleasant place. The fish was incredibly fresh and full of flavour! I truly enjoyed the salmon, the depth of taste was impressive. The oysters were as fresh as they come. The waiter forgot to bring the sauce for the oysters, but after trying one, I realised it wasn’t needed at all. The quality spoke for itself. The rest of the dishes were just as good, with perfectly sized portions, satisfying without being heavy. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, making the whole experience even better.”
“Dinner at SOLE Seafood & Grill was one of the standout meals of our Dublin trip. The atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable, and the seafood quality was excellent throughout the evening. Shortly after being seated, someone came by offering warm brown soda bread or sourdough bread, which was a great touch and a nice introduction to the meal. We started with the Guinness Smoked Salmon and the West Cork Rope Mussels, both beautifully prepared and packed with fresh flavor. The Fish n Chips arrived golden and crisp with tender flaky fish inside, and the Fish Pie was rich, creamy, and comforting without feeling too heavy. For dessert, the Dark Forest was decadent and beautifully presented, while the Mango Mousse was light, refreshing, and a perfect way to finish the meal. Service was warm, attentive, and polished for most of the night. The only disappointment came at the very end. After we finished dessert, our server never returned to close out the experience. Another waiter eventually brought the check without acknowledging our original server or checking in with us, which made the ending feel abrupt compared to the otherwise excellent hospitality. Overall, still a fantastic seafood experience in Dublin with high-quality dishes, beautiful presentation, and a memorable atmosphere. I’d happily return.”
“When we arrived, we were seated in a corner separated by a voile curtain. As it was my first time at the restaurant, I asked if we could sit in the main dining area, but I was told they were fully booked. Well, I had also made a booking, I just wanted to experience the restaurant instead of being tucked away in a corner. Anyway, the oysters were fresh and delicious. That's about it. I ordered the "Fresh Off the Boat" dish, which was described by the waiter as "prawns with pork and cheese sauce". What arrived, however, barely tasted of prawns. The "pork" was just pancetta covered in grated cheese. It felt more like a dish made from leftover ingredients than something freshly prepared. My husband ordered the steak, and it was just ok. The ice cream was nice, but the chocolate mousse made it clear they don't have a pastry chef. We finished our meal and left asap to have drinks somewhere else. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience 👎”
