“I was in Chicago for work and needed a spot to unwind after a long day, The Evie on Michigan Avenue delivered in every way. I settled in at the bar for a glass of wine and the steak frites, and honestly, it was the perfect solo dining experience. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance between lively and relaxed sophisticated without being stuffy, with great energy from the bar. My wine was well poured and the server was attentive without hovering. The steak frites were excellent the steak cooked exactly as ordered, and the fries were crispy and fresh. For a spot right on the Mag Mile, The Evie could easily coast on location alone, but the food and service genuinely stand on their own. This is now my go-to whenever I'm back in Chicago for work. Highly recommend!”

“The experience was great. The server was great. She had such personality and was so nice. The food was good but at the same time I have mixed feelings on how to rate this. I'm used to beefed up beef up sandwiches where you want to eat the whole sandwich because the meat. I understand that the fat is the good part that adds to the flavor... But I would say almost 35% of my sandwich was just that... Fat. I kind of got grossed out by it actually and I love a little fat in some beef. But I seriously had to pick it out every other piece. I only ate half my sandwich because of how much fat there was in here. Now on to the cornbread. You're going to see all the reviews about how amazing it is. I'm just going to have to say those are the best corn but I've ever had on Earth. So far. I can't really add to the content of what other people have described on this cornbread but this was probably the juiciest and most delicious piece of cornbread that has savored in my mouth. I did take the honey from my tea though and poured it on top right before taking a bite as the butter. I slathered onto it melted and it's it's Sheen of cornbread crusted Glory. And then finally the sushi. This roll was my favorite. But again, I wish I could rate it at five but I can't.... Mainly because of the rice. It wasn't fully cooked. There were parts of rice in there that were like freaking Al dente rice. Never had sushi where I had to really bite into rice because it wasn't as soft as I had liked it. I don't know if this is how they normally cook the rice here that way, but when you bite into sushi it should be nice and soft all the way through. But if rice is undercooked and you feel you bite into something, it's like chewing on a pebble for a brief second and the experience of tasting the rest of the fish and whatever else made the roll kind of just goes away... This was my third time eating here. And I will always come back as long it is around. Definitely getting the cornbread each time. And I'll probably just stick to the fish and burgers which are also amazing here.”

“We sat at the bar and ordered a piece of nigiri as an appetizer and I had the salmon, with rice and bok choy. The food was delicious and the drinks were as well. I had an Old Fashioned and mocha martini. The bartenders were attentive & the service was good. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance & decor and the noise levels were good where we could hear each other talk. The prices were high, but not unexpected for downtown Chicago.”

“Beautiful atmosphere and luxurious. We had a reservation so we got seated right away. The restaurant has quiet music and it is not loud so conversing is easy and pleasant. Service was good, we felt taken care of. Food was absolutely delicious except for one thing- we ordered two different types of steak and they both came ice cold even though they looked freshly made. Our server was absent for a while before she brought the main dish so she was either late with bring it up or the steak was ready before the sides. The Greek salad doesn’t have enough feta cheese so it’s not worth the price but the taste was good. They do offer one ice cream scoop with a candle for birthdays. But they do have a few other desserts too. Overall it was a good experience”

“We were going to spend the day in the city with our son! I made reservations at The Evie for brunch before we headed to the Chicago Auto show. We had never been to this restaurant and wanted to try a new place. Food was good, my veggie burger was delicious. Our server was so nice and took really good care of us. Wonderful start to our day!!
