“We had the best afternoon tasting here and truly enjoyed how welcomed we felt by the family that owns and operates Rainbrew. Highly recommend the Bright and Stormy cocktail it was delightful. We can’t wait to come back!”
“This is such a unique and delicious Korean rice wine spot. We tried the rice wine flights, and they were excellent. One thing to note is that the rice wines here are organic and more sour than the ones you’ll find in stores, which often have sugar or aspartame added. The owner came to our table several times and shared fascinating information about the history of rice wine. She was incredibly helpful and truly made the experience more meaningful. We also ordered the seafood pajeon, which was good and paired nicely with the drinks.”
“After a hard day's labor, I was really craving a refreshing drink, and I've been hearing of this place so I gave it a try. This is the real thing! The Makkeolli here has so much more body than what you find in the store, and isn't overly sweet because only natural ingredients are use--no added sweetners, no nothing but rice, water nuruk and time. The Jinju and Sukju bump it up a notch with their earthiness and herbalness. What's even more is that they're teaching about these wonderful beverages, and even holding classes on how to brew makkeolli ( yes its called a wine, but you brew it). I love to see how this generation is really getting back to their roots and sharing it with everyone. 10/10 will do again.”
“Such a fantastic place! It’s so special to be able to have traditional Korean rice wine. Normally I don’t get tasters, but everything looked so different and enticing—I had to try as much as I could. While everything was delicious, I shamelessly loved the Jinju for the peaty-ness (I love whiskeys and scotch). The vibe and atmosphere was also so so cool. You can tell they put care into their brand and the environment they wanted to cultivate. The workers (and owner I think?) were extremely welcoming and spent time to tell us about the fermentation process and the culture/history behind Korean rice wine, answering all our questions. They also had a slide show going, informing guests about the process, which was rad. One strange thing happened when I overheard another customer telling the tall bar tender how bad the food he got was, saying the spam was “overcooked” and the rice was “bland” or something (even though I didn’t have any of the food myself, I think that’s a crazy take since it did look and smell good, and I’m definitely coming back to try the food next time). I didn’t see his face so I didn’t know if he was joking (if so, strange sense of humor), but the bar tender handled it so well and professionally! Basically just saying “thank you for your feedback”. Honestly, everyone was so chill there, that alone made me want to come back. Wish I got more pictures, but trust me when I say it is worth the visit!”
“Nice and clean place. Hidden jam in Woodinville. They are very serious about what they're doing. I bought a bottle of Sook. Deep and creamy but excellent quality. Very recommand to a small gathering. One suggestion is about the food quality. Their menu selection is understandable, but they are all microwavable/pre-made food. Just wish they upgrade their food. I will still buy their 막걸리.”
