“Sometimes you have a restaurant experience that, even while you’re in the middle of it, you already know you’ll remember it forever. Sōbō is one of those places. First, Christina (the chef/co-owner), and her husband, Satoru, are both exceedingly warm and welcoming, not to mention their dog Arlo, who is the heart of the place. A good staff can make an amazing experience, but that’s not the end of the story here. The food is mind-bendingly good. Every single thing we ordered (look at the pictures) would be “must orders” in the future. I’m not sure how we’ll ever experience the full menu unless we bring several friends. This is absolutely a spot that you should make special plans around coming to visit. My wife and I are already talking about when we can make it back up here. So, do yourself a favor, make plans to come here. There’s plenty to do in Boonville and the surrounding area to make it a perfect weekend. If your experience is anywhere close to ours, not only will you not regret it, it’ll be an experience you cannot wait to repeat.”

“We were in Boonville for the Brew Fest over the weekend and we wanted to check out what the town had to offer. What an amazing little place!! The owners were super nice, so fun to chat and joke with. Epic beer and saki selection! We tried quite a bit of the menu, seriously, we went a little crazy and loved every sip and bite! “Best Dinner in Boonville! We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Sobo. The atmosphere is cozy & stylish, and the owners could not be more welcoming & accommodating. The service was excellent and each dish was bursting with flavor. Their Miso soup is the best I’ve ever had- such a depth of flavor with fresh local mushrooms. The fish dishes were seared to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!”

“SUCH A GEM!!! My husband and I came into town for vacation and decided to have dinner at this lovely restaurant. We were so glad we did. The experience was nothing short of perfection! Satoru, Chef Christina, and Kibur were so gracious and kind. We felt so special sitting at the chef's counter, sipping on our sake flight, observing the chef prepare every dish, and tasting the delicious food! We LOVED the pace of how the dishes came out. We had time to chat, while enjoying our drinks and food. The sake we ordered were Yuri, Jozen, Gunma, and Tochigi 14. The dishes we ordered were miso soups, wasabi eggs tamago, tuna tataki, spicy salmon taco-maki, and yellow roll. Please keep in mind there is only ONE chef who is preparing your dishes. She is phenomenal and very efficient. However, one person means one set of hands. They have a great system going and you will never feel neglected. Chef Christina worked diligently to prepare all the wonderful dishes. Her husband Satoru checked on everyone very frequently to make sure every table has everything they need, while Kibur keeps everyone's water and drinks refilled and table cleaned. This place is such a gem and we will definitely return. Highly recommend!!”

“Delicious food from a very talented chef. This is a small family run business, so you shouldn't be in a rush, but the wait is well worth it. The menu changes and is compact so I would recommend trying it all if you get the chance.”
