“Gray absolutely sleighs behind the bar. Every cocktail arrived with its own personality, layered, unexpected, and ridiculously well-balanced. You can tell real thought went into the flavor profiles instead of just tossing pretty ingredients into a glass and hoping for the best. Safe to say my standards have now become unnecessarily high. Counting down the days until the new menu drops. Also have to give extreme kudos to Michael- witty and charming! Cheers to great staff, great drinks- excellent times!”

“Trendy, cozy, romantic and upscale ambiance, we visited some time ago to enjoy a cocktail (we did not order any bar bites) after my now husband proposed to me, we highly enjoyed our impromptu visit. It has one of the deepest back bars in the city, extensive spirits list, organic wine, classic and specialty cocktails, beers, small plates of bar bites, award winning Mixologists, a rotating seasonal menu of original house cocktails and the service is impeccable! The Sugar House opened in 2011 in the historic Corktown neighborhood, and still offers cocktails to go. You can even reserve space for private parties. It's a stunning bar with classic furniture and light fixtures. The staff members are superb, they serve proper cocktails here. I look forward to visiting The Sugar House again. Must visit!!”

“A really cool bar! I’m from out of town and love to find interesting cocktail bars, this is definitely it! The bartenders are good at what they do. I think the price of the cocktails is decent for the quality of what you get here! There are 101 classic cocktails on the menu, which is wild. I tried the milk punch, it was really good! They will have your favorite or new favorite.”

“I’m honestly shocked by what was served at Sugar House Detroit. We were given mackerel straight in a tin, with minimal effort on presentation or preparation. It literally felt like something you’d open at home, not something you’d pay for at a bar that claims to have high standards. No creativity, no refinement—just a can on a plate with a few random sides thrown in. For a place known for its cocktails, I expected way better attention to detail. Drinks were fine, but serving canned fish like this and charging for it is honestly disappointing.”
