Located in the heart of downtown Chicago’s River North Neighborhood, The Kerryman is a little piece of Ireland. The 3 owners all hail from Co. Kerry Ireland and the Head Chef Damo Moloney from Co. Limerick, Ireland who creates an upscale authentic Irish menu. Drenched in history, the Kerryman’s location was once a notorious gangster hangout known as the McGovern Saloon, where the young Dion O’Banion got his start as a singing waiter. In 1978 the location became home to one of the “original” punk clubs and was considered to be the zenith of the original Chicago punk movement. Whether you are stopping by for lunch, dinner or an after work pint the staff at The Kerryman are here to make you feel welcome and at home.
“Delicious food (spice bag and burger) and friendly and attentive service. We even got to sit outside! I heard of this place on the train from Galway to Dublin, where a fellow passenger was friends with Callum who apparently owns the Kerryman? So it’s even known in Ireland and for good reason. Thanks a million!”
“I had such a fantastic time at Kerryman Irish Bar & Restaurant! 🍀 The food was absolutely delicious, every bite was a delight. 😋 Service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. I spent about $10-20 per person, which felt like a great value. Highly recommend! ✨🍻”
“My wife and I love a proper pour of Guinness and she found The Kerryman! As soon as you walk in, you feel how special this bar is. Mick was our server/bartender. What a great freaking guy! The fish and chips are amazing! We are definitely coming back before our trips ends.”
“Definitely order the black angus sliders, they were flavorful and good in portion for starters. They had happy hour drinks available, and mimosas were an option! I have never tried fish and chips so this was my first time and it was amazing. The portion sizes were fulfilling and the fish was crispy and light. The potatoes wedges were nice and thick as well. The inside was cozy, with a nice rich wooden, Irish style pub theme. The bathrooms are all the way downstairs which can be tricky to find but I like how you can sit upstairs because they have hooks on the wall to hang your jackets.”
“First time in Chicago and this Irish Pub is near by the Hotel. Very good place. Fish and chips was delicious. On my second visit i did order the Corned Beef sandwich and it was amazing. I do love this place.”
