“I did a door dash for my first experience at this restaurant. I created my own pizza with carmelized onions, banana peppers, oregano, light cheese, balsamic reduction and well done. This was exactly what my taste buds wanted. So sweet and crispy I also wanted pasta. On the menu is a pasta with cheese for under $7.00. This was also mouth watering. I was surprised when it came with a focaccia stick. There was plenty of red sauce. I will dine in next time. It says a lot when your dash dash food is phenomenal.”
“Wheat Penny’s atmosphere is casual and comfortable with plenty of space and excellent service. The drinks menu is extensive and the unique food items are diverse with plenty of vegetarian options. We enjoyed the Burrata Eggplant, Scallops, and Creamed Spinach with exceptional sides of mashed cauliflower and butternut squash. Each item was uniquely flavored and Yummy! We also ordered a vegetarian pizza with quality toppings - loved the artichoke hearts!”
“From the service to the options to the food itself everything is top notch. The place is fun but can be relaxing. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm complicated with food allergies and they met me and exceeded Mt expectations. Gluten free dairy free pizza that was AMAZING. My husband got the brisket sandwich that is huge but more importantly tastes wonderful. Drinks are also just as good, even unusual cider options that made me so happy. Cannot wait to come back.”
“The pizza was decent! Other menu items and drinks we got taste-wise were a bit mid. I appreciated the presentation and environment, but not somewhere I will crave to back in the future anytime soon? Likely could get great pizza and cheaper elsewhere to be honest!”
“Overall, ok. If you want an okay Italian meal with good service and good drinks this is fine. I definitely have had better Italian food in Dayton. Went there for our anniversary on a Saturday, prices made us think it would be a little more on the upscale side, it was not. Atmosphere was weird. Customers were more casual than we had expected. The restaurant had their To Go prep station in the very much in the dining room, so it took away from the dining experience watching them bag and do their side work. The service was good, quick to refill waters and overall pleasant. My drink was great, the bar overall seems like better half of the restaurant. Food was ok. The warm focaccia bread was awesome, that is the only food I’d go back for. My pizza was dry and lacked flavor. My partner enjoyed his pasta, but said not worth going back for. I wouldn’t go there again personally. Love the queer allyship! That is great! Just wish the pizza had been better and the vibes a little nicer to match the prices. Edit: they never responded to the email!”
