Wolf in the Fog is inspired by the oceans, forests, and shoreline of our beautiful backyard: Tofino. We’re passionate about sharing this love and fresh food with friends over a couple of cocktails, a craft beer or a glass of really good wine.
“Pleasantly surprised. I was worried that this restaurant would be overhyped but it is definitely worth trying in Tofino. The steak really knocked it out of the park for me in terms of execution and use of ingredients. The potato was fantastic with mushroom duxelle under the cheese topping. It was delicious! Tuna crudo was light and refreshing. I would pass on the seaweed salad next time. The chocolate brownie was nice. I wanted some sorbet as a palate cleanser but I found it to be a very gooey texture. There may have been too much stabilizers in it. The table next to me had many dietary requirements and they seemed very accommodating. All in all still would come back!”
“5 stars for Wolf in the Fog!!! We came here after hearing great things about this place! I got the squid to start & the rockfish as my main. No disappointments with either, but the squid was the best squid dish I’ve ever had!!! I would recommend everyone to get this! The rockfish was also excellent & very flavourful! My fiancee got the pasta & it was sooo good! Really great as leftovers too! We ended it with a pumpkin dessert with sage ice cream, which was awesome! My fiancee said it was some of the best ice cream she’s had! Overall 9.1 for Wolf in the Fog, and if you take a trip to Tofino, you have to go here!”
“Visited for the first time recently. Had the best seats on the upper floor in the corner being able to watch the sunset (with a reservation). Comfortable ambience and lighting. Attentive service. The food was amazing! Tried potato crusted oyster, scallop gratin, a seafood dish, special mushroom gnocchi and pistachio cake. The supercharger cocktail was awesome. Will be back for more!”
“Sorta , sorry for the 4 stars, really wanted to give you 5. Read on, see why.... Service was well done, obviously staff has been well trained and knows the dishes along with friendly banter. Very polished for casual upscale. And some nice steak cutlery bzzzzz, if you know, you know. Food , well presented, cooked to great temperature and flavorful. Enjoyed hot halibut fish cakes, strip loin and ling cod. Nice wine to wash it down, in a very cool setting. Why only 4 stars you ask? Lemme tell ya, STICKY TABLE TOP, can't stand a sticky table top, it just took away from the entire evening. Try a different cleaner that doesn't screw up the finish and leave it.....sticky.... Also not a fan of the reservation cancellation fee. Your good, you will seat the table.”
“This is not an Italian restaurant. I start with that because I made the mistake of selecting the gnocchi. I know what good gnocchi tastes like and this was not that. The sauce was way too salty. The dumplings were doughy and chewy, not light and fluffy. It still tasted fine (it wasn’t horrible), but I just wouldn’t order that again. We also had the Lingcod and that was excellent. I found the beet and radicchio salad I chose was way too busy and could benefit from being simpler. We also had the seaweed salad and that was very good. The initial wine list is disappointing so you have to ask for the main wine list to find something that would appeal to a person who appreciates good wine. All in all, I would go back but I would not pick the gnocchi and would likely stick to something that leans west coast.”
