“I cannot express how much we enjoyed this restaurant. Made a reservation at the last minute for a final dinner in Tofino, and I am so glad we did! The food was impeccable! I was so impressed by the flavour profiles in each dish we had. I even almost forgot to take photos because I was so excited to enjoy the food! The service was also wonderful - our server was very kind, and very attentive! Definitely will be coming back here!”

“Came here on Saturday night to celebrate getting engaged and had such a wonderful experience! We had Michael as our server and he was so kind and knowledgeable of the menu. He was a fantastic server! I loved that the host took our raincoats to hang up when we arrived so we didn’t have to sit with them. The food was some of the best food I’ve ever had and we also shared their Tiramisu and Chocolate Mousse for dessert and they were both soooo good! I definitely recommend coming here on your trip to Tofino!!”

“Our favourite dishes that we’ll definitely miss and hope it’ll still be there when we visit Tofino again are: Island Green Salad (ask for extra dressing, you won’t regret it), Mushrooms Pintxo, grilled Octopus, Tuna Crudo, smoked olives and their in house Sourdough! We were able to purchase a loaf to take home. Their happy hour is amazing and highly recommend it! The staff were very friendly: Mackenzie, Emily, Mike, and Matt! Thank you for making our visits so memorable. We look forward to our future visits when we return again to Tofino.”

“What a delightful take on Catalonian and Spanish cuisine, by the owner of Wolf in the Fog, a Tofino mainstay. And how improbable that such an excellent new restaurant should appear in the small and remote tourist hub of Tofino. Taking over from a pretty good restaurant that formerly occupied the space, Ombré (“enshadowed”) has its work cut out for it to succeed slightly off the main drag, but our experience suggests it is already doing what it needs to. The precision and friendliness of the staff, the handsome renovated interior, and above all the excellent food are the restaurant’s well-placed calling cards. We enjoyed roasted Brussels sprouts, foraged mushrooms, a vegetarian pasta dish, beef cheeks, Catalonian chicken and seared tuna. All were prepared with skill and very delicious. (Only the chicken was underwhelming, but still very good.) The tuna was outstanding. Our server was very sweet with our kids. She switched up a drink when it was not to their liking. In retrospect, at least one of the adults should have gotten the tasting menu, which looked outstanding and had the best dessert in the house — some sort of crème brûlée or caramel, which was accidentally served to our table, to our delight.”
