Welcome to Zaca Mesa Winery & Vineyards, celebrating over 50 years! Experience the beauty of our estate surrounded by vineyards and the stunning San Rafael Mountains. Enjoy a wine tasting flight or glass of hand-crafted wine at our tasting room's courtyard or at our Lounge & Terrace. Established in 1973, Zaca Mesa has a long-standing history in Santa Barbara County. As the first vineyard to plant Syrah in the area in 1978, Zaca Mesa has since helped pioneer the Santa Barbara Rhône movement through an unwavering dedication to Syrah and Rhône varietals. Combining traditional old-world winemaking practices with innovative farming and vineyard techniques, Zaca Mesa is well-known as a high-quality producer of California Rhône-style wines that are true reflections of the vineyard and appellation. Continuing Zaca Mesa’s legacy today is Winemaker & General Manager Kristin Bryden. Driven by passion and integrity, Bryden takes a hands-on, artisanal approach to crafting quality wines that reflect Zaca Mesa’s unique site. *All retail sales are subject to a 1% Santa Barbara County Wine Preserve fee.
“I've driven by here many times, passing Zaca Mesa for other tastings. With a late start and no particular plans, we stopped by later in the afternoon. This winery is an absolute gem. We tried the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir tasting, and thoroughly enjoyed every pour. The tasting room staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back here!”
“Fabulous big red wines, served at this gorgeous property. The surround beauty makes your wine experience something to remember.”
“WEDDING REVIEW. We had our dream wedding here and it was absolutely perfect for us! We are so happy we chose Zaca Mesa!! Big Thanks to Jake!”
“One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was getting married at Zaca Mesa Winery. We instantly fell in love with how remote it is and how you truly feel like you are surrounded by nothing by nature. It’s set back from the street so we didn’t have to worry about cars zooming by like at other venues. Between the vineyards, the oak trees and spring/summer poppies, the setting is absolutely picturesque. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff, especially Tara Creighton are top notch. It was important for us to be able to connect with the staff and Tara did an amazing job of working with us and helping to manage the event on the day of. She truly went above and beyond and we are so very thankful for all her help. Zaca Mesa was very flexible and catered to our specific desires and vision. The site fee was very reasonable and it allowed us to spend money on other details like live music vs paying a fortune for just the venue. Another one of our favorites things about Zaca Mesa and arguably one of the biggest factors in our decision, is their wine. The wine is delicious and being able to choose between both Tread and Zaca Mesa wines allowed us to have the variety that we were looking for. Our overall experience with Zaca Mesa was incredible. We are grateful for the memories we made there and for all the incredible staff that helped to make our day perfect. If getting married in wine country is your dream, check out Zaca Mesa, it will not disappoint.”
“Will NOT go back. Been going here over 15 years. That is over. Went with a member and two other friends. Party of four. The member was comped one free tasting. The server told us she would switch between the two tastings. Afterwards we learned she had charged the other two friends $45 each plus tax for two glasses off the higher price tasting. So members no longer get complimentary tastings for their friends apparently. $90 Plus tax for 2 tastings was exorbitant and not told in advance.. Come on Zaca Mesa, you used to be so good!”
