“Spent a long weekend in the downtown Minneapolis area and had made reservations at Zelo located right on Nicollet Mall , perfectly located very close to our hotel, and everything could be done within walking distance. Reservations are highly recommended as this place does seem to get very busy. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken immediately to our table. We were asked if we wanted a table or a booth, which was a nice touch. We chose a booth which was very comfortable. The design of the restaurant is definitely polished and stylish. From what I noticed, one side of the restaurant is set up for dining, while the other side has the bar, probably for walk ins or eating at the bar. Very nice & welcoming vibe overall. Our waitress was excellent, very friendly and explained the menu and the specials perfectly. In fact, one of the dishes we ordered was one of the specials. It was a very good dinner. We started by sharing roasted Brussels sprouts which were perfectly prepared, instead of getting a traditional salad. For the main dishes we got the house made gluten free pappardelle, which seems to be a rarity, especially finding house made gluten free pasta. This was also part of the specials and came with asparagus and pancetta in a cream sauce. Delicious treat. We also got the dry aged pork chop with a peppery mushroom crust and baby potatoes. Everything was perfectly cooked. Their cocktail list and wine list were also very extensive. We only stuck with cocktails, and they were a good pour. Great service, really great food, and a nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place.”

“We had a lovely time at Zelo tonight. Our server Benjamin was fantastic. Started with a cocktail and a small order of the homemade ravioli which were to die for. The tomato sauce with these is so fresh and so good. Then split a full order of the her linguine with braised lamb and the New York strip with potatoes. The lamb is so tender and the linguine is made with a spinach pasta dough that is delightful. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes… oh my god. Finished with tiramisu and crème brûlée with a digestif and really could not be happier. Benjamin was perfect the whole night, came to our table the exact right amount and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent night out, will definitely be back and will for sure be asking for Benjamin.”

“A magnificent restaurant with a pretty close to original Italian menu. The Quality of food and service is 5 stars. Beautiful place with plenty of seats. I would recommend to reserve cause it gets really busy. Will def comeback on my next trip.”

“Food is amazing. Cannot believe it took us so long to try this spot. All food made from scratch. Was going to do a pasta meal, but Benjamin our server, highly recommended the walleye, and it was hands down best fish I’ve had. Benjamin was a highlight! Great recommendations, attentive but didn’t hover. Staff bussing tables and bringing water were very kind and working hard all night! We will return!”

“This was a surprise place. Reservations are recommended, especially for larger groups. We were two so it was easy to find space in the bar area. The service was above average and very attentive. The food was superb. My spaghetti and meatballs look small yet it was enough. The dessert was a lemon cheesecake that was very flavorful. It seems this place is popular with locals too. Overall a very good experience and would recommend for a nice dinner or a more relax gathering at the bar area.”
