“The folks at Anjin are doing great things. Balancing flavors with temperature and textures. This was an experience unlike anything I have had in KC. Perfectly curated individualized experience. Well-done! Can't wait to come back!”
“Bitchin’. We ordered just about everything on the menu and it was well worth it - immersive dining experience, excellent service, so fun watching everything going on in the kitchen. And the food was phenomenal - I think this was the first and only time I’ve ever said “oh my god” out loud after taking a bite of a salad…but forgot to take a picture of that one because we were so busy devouring it. Can’t wait to come back.”
“Overall, an amazing experience! Went on a solo date night for myself and it was a perfect spot for solo dining or a date night spot for two people! Adam and a couple of other servers were fantastic! Constantly checking in to see if the food was good and answering a lot of questions - especially, me being new to an Izakaya style of restaurant. I ordered some sake and it was delicious! Solo dining is perfect for about 2-3 small plates! I ordered the Skewers, Kakiage Tempura and the Tempura Walleye Sandwich. Everything was coursed perfectly and I wasn’t bombarded with the amount of small plates. The skewers were divine but that sandwich! OMG! Absolutely amazing! I finished with dessert and had a twist combination of their soft serve ice cream- choosing three toppings max. I chose the panda cookie and an ube marshmallow rolled in coconut, can’t remember the third and it was absolutely amazing! Again - an amazing experience and Adam did a fantastic job! Will definitely be dining again!”
“Anjin is absolutely phenomenal! From the most inventive dish, to the smallest quirky trinket, everything here is super unique and personal, and a true labor of love. Do yourself a favor, and order the whole menu. You won't be disappointed! I hope I can come back soon.”
“This is one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve had! First off it feels like you’re sitting at someone’s dinner table the way seating is. The seating was really unique and made it easier for the server to get around faster so we didn’t feel forgotten even though it was busy. We also were able to talk to the chef who explained the food to us and recommendations. Something else that I really enjoyed was the variety of foods. It definitely is more meat heavy, which normally I try to avoid because I’m scared of food poisoning especially with more exotic meats. But everyone was able to see what the chefs were doing so I was much more at ease. I was able to try foods I’ve never even imagined I would try. And they were all delicious. We tried chicken hearts, trout roe, catfish, scallops, etc. probably not a place I would frequent because I’m not normally an adventurous person but this place has so much charm and character. I would definitely bring an out of state friend here to make them fall in love with our city.”
