Our Sparkling House facility features an awe-inspiring outdoor patio that overlooks our 5 acre vineyard, bordering the majestic ponderosa pines of the rugged Black Hills of Sturgis. We offer daily tastings to walk-in customers, and mimosa flights 10am to 2pm on weekends. Also the platinum experience 1pm & 3pm daily with reservations. The Jackson family believes that wine, and the winemaking process is intimately connected to the heart of the land, and serves to celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature. This is where the extraordinary story of Belle Joli’ begins. The wine-loving Jackson family had always wanted to optimize the full potential of the rich Black Hills soil, and bring their dreams of making locally grown and produced wine come to life. Matthew, (winemaker) graduated in the Enology program at California State University, Fresno. It was there that he met Choi, (CFO/Certified Sommelier(CMS)) and upon completion of their studies, the couple boldly chose South Dakota as the destination to fulfill their family’s passion of the winemaking process. Inspired by the unique beauty and legacy of the land in the Black Hills, they chose the name Belle Joli’ for their vineyard, and in 2000, they planted their first vines in the heart of Belle Fourche. The winery's presence now stretches across the Northern Black Hills into Deadwood and Sturgis, where a state-of-the-art facility produces sparkling wine, utilizing traditional champagne methods. Today, the Jackson family vision of a Black Hills vineyard that produces award-winning wines, grown, harvested, and bottled in western South Dakota, has come to full fruition. “Stopped in to Belle Joli on my way through Sturgis and it was my favorite spot. Such a cute location off the main drag with a beautiful, sun soaked patio, some tasty snacks, and better wine than other SD ones I'd tried (albeit I like sweeter). Cheyenne took care of me and was pleasant and knowledgeable. Only downside was they didn't have any sparkling due to the bottle shortage last year. Will definitely reco this to friends traveling through the Black Hills region.”
