Chateau Boswell's awe-inspiring 65 feet underground caves with bare rock strata representing 4.5 million years of geologic evolution is unlike any other in the Napa Valley. Chateau Boswell is known for iconic Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines that exhibit true vineyard expression from California's most coveted vineyards in the Napa Valley, Russian River Valley, and Sta. Rita Hills. Winemaking Winemaker Philippe Melka, one of the most sought after consultants in the world and known as the "soil whisperer" for his background in geology and viticulture in Bordeaux. Forty three years ago, legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff directed Chateau Boswell 's first Napa Valley Cabernet productions. Through his immense knowledge and gift for mentoring young winemakers a Chateau Boswell dedication to merging French winemaking style with the terroir of the Napa Valley was born. Chateau Boswell continues on this quest for excellence and style under the tutelage of French winemaker, Philippe Melka and is now known not only for capturing California’s purest representation of terroir from Napa Valley’s storied Bordeaux varietal vineyards but also for Pinot Noir vineyard-designated wines from Sta. Rita Hills and for iconic single-vineyard Chardonnay wines from some of the oldest vines in the Russian River Valley. A Champenoise style sparkling wine aging in all magnums in the caves is another exciting project from Chateau Boswell with world renowned consultant Keith Hcck. Chateau Boswell has the distinct honor of being the first certified Napa Green Winery in the Napa Valley having focused for decades upon protecting the environment through practices that reduce energy and water use, maintain organic regenerative farming practices, and engages in precision winemaking that allows the vineyard to showcase its terroir and varietal without intervention.
