Chef Point's inspiring journey began almost two years before it opened its doors on April 1, 2003. Co-founders Paula Merrell and Franson Nwaeze secured a crucial bank loan on January 1, 2003, allowing them to complete construction and launch their establishment within a few short months. Chef Point garnered extensive media coverage, with local channels like Channel 11 and Channel 5 airing multiple stories. CNBC also broadcasted their story nationwide, while Channel 8 featured them on the prestigious "Why Guy" segment. Radio station 820AM and NPR's Kitchen Sisters further highlighted Chef Point's innovative approach of serving gourmet cuisine in a gas station setting. The Star-Telegram contributed to their visibility with multiple published articles. In addition to local acclaim, Chef Point gained national exposure through appearances on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" (DDD) and "Guilty Pleasures" shows, celebrating their unique culinary offerings. In 2019, Chef Point relocated their restaurant to Colleyville, marking a new chapter in their story. Strategically situated near the airport, Chef Point remains a beloved destination for both locals and travelers, offering a five-star dining experience in an unexpected setting. Their success was further underscored by accolades such as the 2nd place Mayor's Award at the 2004 Northeast TasteFest Event and the 1st place People's Choice Award at the 2005 event. In the same year, Chef Point was honored with the Fort Worth Mayor's Award at the Entrepreneur Expo, recognizing their impact on the local culinary scene and entrepreneurial spirit. Chef Point continues to innovate and thrive, blending a passion for food with entrepreneurial drive to create a dining experience that surprises and delights patrons from near and far.
