Gemelli is an Italian restaurant in the Biltmore Village neighborhood of Asheville.
“I am so incredibly happy we have Gemelli in Biltmore Village! I had my first dinner at this location recently and it was a fantastic experience all around. The service was wonderful - Carly was kind and friendly and attentive, offering suggestions for wine and her favorites from the menu. I also spoke with Dominic, who was delightful and we shared the feelings of hope and optimism around Biltmore Village as shops have started reopening and the energy in the community feels inspired. The food was EXCELLENT!! The grilled peaches with Kalamata olives was a standout for me - something new I’ve never tried before and is now a favorite! The frisée salad was perfect and bright, the Buccatini had a little kick to it with delicious broccolini and lamb sausage, and the lasagne was delicious! The restaurant has recently been recognized for their historic preservation of the building after the storm, and I must say it’s a beautiful space, with lots of light, and it feels both cozy and vibrant with a nice aesthetic! I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage everyone to go and support our local businesses in Biltmore Village!”
“This place is amazing. The food is way above the price. I've been searching for an authentic Italian restaurant and this is it. I came for my bday on a recommendation from my wife and this was the best decision. We both had the Cacio e pepe and it was delicious. I added chicken and she added a meatball. We took leftovers and it was still delicious the next day. My favorite Italian is Lebros in Buffalo, NY and I must say, this place may top it. I highly recommend Gemelli and I will certainly be returning.”
“A lucky find by chance. We wanted Italian cuisine, instead of the brewery food we had for the last two days. Their pasta is homemade every day, which lead to our decision to try it, and it was a great decision. The lasagna was delicious, it had a great flavor, and served with a flavorful vodka sauce. The pasta ala vodka was very good, the portion was large, with a large ball of burrata cheese on top. The side salad with a roasted garlic vinegerett was larger than expected, it was very fresh with heirloom tomatoes and shaved carrots. The tiramisu - one of the best ever we've had, and we've had a lot of them. Our server, Michael, was pleasant and attentive. Don't let the location in a strip center stop you from enjoying this excellent restaurant. Price is very fair, comparable to any Italian restaurant. Atmosphere was very pleasant, quiet, very easy to converse. Highly recommend this venue.”
“Another one in the books!! Well done Gemeli”s. As always did not disappoint. Enjoyed all the dishes ordered and introduced new patrons. They were very impressed by the menu options and the fact that seed oil are not used We all will be back. Michael our server was fun, great and very accommodating.”
“I want to love you Gemelli, however we left unsatisfied. Upon arriving I was eyeing up the booths in the alcoves, hoping my wife & I would be seated there and we were! The server gave us plenty of time to read over the menu before approaching, which also gave us time to admire the interior. We started with the arancini, meatballs and caesar salad. I’ll start by saying the addition of lemon in the salad is on point, very delicious. The arancini can be better. The exterior texture tasted similar to taffy and seriously lacking in sauce. (Sauce is a non negotiable in Italian food.) There was an overwhelmingly amount of black pepper as well. Luckily for me I love black pepper! So much, that I ordered the cacio e Pepe which sadly was lacking in the spice. My wife said the meatballs were good, the bucatini was flavorful, cooked well but again could have used more sauce. We ordered the tiramisu to share and after reading the desert menu over a second time I was curious about the rotating gelato flavors. We decided on the pistachio and here is where we were sold! I was transported back to Italy (for a short moment) and for this reason we will be back. We hope Gemelli is just working out its kinks with the new location.”
