Launderette is an East Austin café located in a converted laundromat in the Holly neighborhood. Throughout weekend brunch, weekday lunch and dinner seven days a week, Executive Chef Rene Ortiz delivers on savory dishes, utilizing a loosely Mediterranean flavor palette.
“Such a great dinner - beautiful and delicious food. We shared a few selections and everything was on point, flavorful, and filling. We were only in town for one night and would come back in a heartbeat if back in town. We opted to sit outside which was our only struggle - flies were pretty bad.”
“Super cute spot. Service is always charming and dishes are creative and well executed. Brunch includes amazing pastries and flavorful savory dishes. Desserts are unique and satisfying”
“Launderette in Austin is one of those spots that just gets everything right. We ordered the brick chicken, the whole grilled branzino, and the sweet potatoes and every single dish hit. The brick chicken was crispy and flavorful, the branzino was perfectly cooked and clean, and the sweet potatoes are a must, honestly unreal and easily the standout of the table. The vibe is relaxed but still feels elevated, service is solid, and the whole experience feels thoughtful without trying too hard. If you’re going, don’t skip the sweet potatoes.”
“Always excellent. I'm surprised this place isn't always packed, as the food and atmosphere is fantastic. Never been disappointed in any way. The octopus was stellar, every bite a pleasure. Our crudo was fresh and bright. The hamburger was simple yet profound, executed perfectly. The drinks were quality and delicious. If you haven't been, GO!”
“We came here for Sunday brunch and liked the light filled space and atmosphere. The food took over 35 minutes to arrive which felt slow. Between the two of us, we shared the asparagus Benedict (the flavour was great but the portion was very small and it only came with two tiny slices of asparagus), chicken sammie (chicken was a bit dry but still tasty) with a side of the frites (these didn’t feel fresh) and the blueberry pancakes (decent but not the best we’ve had).”
