Ore Nell's Barbecue - Biddeford is a BBQ restaurant in the Biddeford neighborhood of Biddeford.
“It is without hesitancy that I write a 5 star review for ore nells (the Biddeford location specifically, but I’m looking forward to checking out their sister location in kittery!). The co-owner, Kyle, could not have been more gracious to my family on a very difficult day - comped our desert and gave my mother a hug without even knowing what we’ve been going through. His kindness is only a mere reflection of the excellence of the food and customer service. The brisket is absolutely 10/10, the banana pudding desert is the best way to end dinner! Paris is also a wonderful waiter/bartender. The music selection is wonderful, the vibes of the space are warm and inviting. Overall, immaculate experience each time I’ve gone. Thank you to Ore Nell’s and Kyle for your kindness, above and beyond customer service and fantastic eats. A well earned 5 stars across the board.”
“We were pretty blown away by our first Ore nells-north experience. We are frequent flyers in Kittery and happened to be in Biddeford. Attentive and friendly waitstaff, nice quiet atmosphere and every good item we got was a work of art. My son's brisket sandwich was bigger than his head, the frito pie is always a go-to, and the specials we tried were 10/10. Get there”
“Absolutely loved Ore Nell’s Barbecue - North! The BBQ was unbelievably delicious, tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere had that perfect laid-back Texas vibe, and the service was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Great food, great people, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend if you’re craving real, quality barbecue!”
“Stopped in for dinner while vacationing in the area & learning they offer vegan BBQ choices! The inside felt like a fancy BBQ joint you’d find in Texas. Staff was friendly. Place was super chill. They offer a la cart style menu - pick your protein & sides! What was exciting to find was stars next to the items that came as a vegan choice. (great to find vegan BBQ - not super common) The vegan BBQ selections were great! What I feasted on: (All vegan) - vegan queso & chips for starter- great portion. Vegan queso was a little watery than hoped (was hoping for that thick cheesey style) but it was flavored perfectly! It was more like a thin nacho cheese than melty queso. - seitan ribs - massive! Delicious seitan with BBQ sauce- can’t go wrong with it! - vegan Mac n cheese - delicious! The vegan cheese was on the watery side like the vegan queso but the flavor was great & made up for that! - vegan slaw - Out of everything, the vegan slaw was the least fave. It wasn’t the best but it was good. It felt a little watery ratio to vegan mayo. They also have an impressive cocktail / craft beer selection which is great! It was a great spot for quality food after a long day adventuring. Really happy to find this spot that focuses HEAVY on Texas style BBQ to offer a hefty amount of vegan choices. Enough to make your own BBQ plate- vegan style.”
“Our household is split on Ore Nell’s! I enjoyed the food and the overall vibe of the restaurant, but my husband wasn’t as impressed — he prefers some of the other barbecue options in town. We went for dinner on a Friday night and found plenty of open seats. The atmosphere was refreshingly unpretentious, with cozy booths that made us feel tucked away and relaxed. Service started strong but fizzled out as the night went on. Our server stopped coming by for water refills, forgot the bread we ordered, and never followed up on my second drink request. Now, the food. This is where the divide really shows. I enjoyed the barbecue (minus the sides), but my husband didn’t feel the same way. We ordered the barbecue for two, which comes with a little bit of everything, and added the half chicken — it was way too much food! The meats were solid overall, with good flavor and texture, though the pork was a bit bland for my taste. Unfortunately, the sides were a big miss. The macaroni was underwhelming, and the collard greens were only saved by the sprinkle of paprika on top. The potato salad was the best of the bunch but still nothing remarkable. On the bright side, the cocktails were great; well-made and reasonably priced. The cornbread special we had as an appetizer was also really good. I would still go back, but there’s definitely room for improvement.”
