“Food is always a 10/10 every time we come, but Bishop truly made the experience tonight. We were celebrating my partners birthday tonight and Bishop made sure our night was perfect. We made a plan to ask for him at our future visits before we even left the table. You guys have an absolute gem on your hands.”
“After researching several restaurants in downtown Birmingham for my husband’s 40th birthday dinner, we ultimately chose Café Dupont after speaking with Samantha — and I’m so glad we did. From the very beginning, she made the entire planning process feel effortless and truly understood how important it was for this milestone celebration to feel special. I needed accommodations for a party of 12, and Samantha offered us a more private dining experience in the bar area, separated from the main dining room, which ended up being perfect for our group. We arrived a little early and enjoyed cocktails at the bar — every drink was not only delicious, but beautifully presented as well. Our server, Bishop, was fantastic. He was entertaining, knowledgeable, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations throughout the evening. Samantha also checked in frequently, offering thoughtful suggestions and answering questions from our table, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. One of the highlights of the evening was the surprise palate cleansers served between courses — our entire party absolutely loved that extra touch. Every guest thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and days later people are still talking about how incredible the food and overall experience were. I also have to mention the valet experience with Mark. I had coordinated with Samantha beforehand because I was hiding a surprise gift in my trunk and wanted it brought in after dinner. Samantha and Mark executed the surprise flawlessly, and it truly made the night unforgettable. It’s rare these days to find a restaurant where every single part of the experience exceeds expectations — from the food and atmosphere to the exceptional staff and hospitality. Café Dupont absolutely delivered on all of it. We will definitely be back to see Samantha, Bishop, Mark, and the bartender who made such amazing drinks. Thank you all for helping make my husband’s 40th birthday such a memorable and special evening!”
“We did not come prepared for the three course culinary experience but did enjoy one of the best seared scallop entrees and beignets! Artfully plated and filled with flavor! Next time we prepare for the full experience so we can enjoy the oysters and fried okra! Psst, they have a pallet cleanser between courses and an incredible house made salted chocolate as you check out! OUTSTANDING!”
“My fiancé and I had a wonderfully delicious dinner at Cafe DuPont! We were able to sit at table 17 right in front of their gorgeous window, giving a picturesque view of downtown Birmingham. We had a front-row seat to the setting sun as we enjoyed our dinners, plus the wonderful jazz music and candlelight made it feel as if we were in a movie. The care and professionalism the servers and chefs provided were top notch 👌. We ordered the cheese plate and pork belly appetizers, and the pork was fork tender and full of flavor. Each of the cheeses paired perfectly with the crostini and pesto they provided. The fresh bread was fluffy and had the perfect texture. We then had the smoked prime ribeye, which was amazingly delicious, and the Joyce farms fried chicken, which was juicy and tender and scrumptious. The portions were perfect and the sides combined to make perfect dishes. The sunrise margarita and wine pairings were great! We topped the meal off with the better than anything beignets and a surprisingly fantastic sweet potato creme brulee. The beignets were soft and fluffy, and the sweet potato didn't overwhelm the creme brulee, acting as a great fall dessert.”
“Service was impeccable! The flavors of the food from beginning to end were immaculate! One of the best dining experiences I have had. Bishop was our server and he was awesome! The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the Margarita Sunrise that I ordered was not very good. But none of the food missed! We had the oyster and okra for an appetizer. The red snapper and scallops and the Duck breast were entrees.”
