“Incredible! This is an experience not just a meal. The Beef Wellington was fantastic, the wine was incredible and finished off with the creme brulee .... absolute perfection. While the food was truly unbelievable, the staff, service and atmosphere was definitely 5 star worthy.”
“My husband and I love this restaurant! The service and food is always 10/10! Amelia was our server tonight and she was fantastic! Highly recommend making a reservation in the loft area for a cute date night experience.”
“Th only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is I was seated by a large party that was extremely noisy. The good and service were superb. Our server Mark was very knowledgeable and charismatic. I plan on returning.”
“Our waitress Amelia was extremely nice and well versed with the menu. She took good care of our party of eleven. The food was ok. It could had been a little more on the plates but overall the atmosphere and service was good.”
“Tonight was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have had in years at Bistro 218. I drove three hours to Birmingham to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. She is like a sister to me, and this restaurant has been one of our favorite places for over eight years. I even requested her favorite table over a month in advance, only to be told upon arrival that parties of four could not request seating. That policy should have been communicated ahead of time. From there, the evening continued downhill. My cousin’s gin gimlet arrived looking and tasting more like a gin and tonic. My boyfriend ordered a filet that was nearly $50, and honestly, it resembled a pot roast more than a filet. It was so tough he had to request two different steak knives just to try to cut it. What made this even more frustrating was that the owner personally came to our table, assured us everything would be handled, and told us not to worry. Yet nothing truly improved. When the bill arrived, the only adjustment was removing the filet charge, despite the overall experience being far below the standard this restaurant once represented. At 67 years old, I do not casually write negative reviews, and I certainly do not enjoy doing so about a place that once held special memories for me. But after tonight, I will never return. It is heartbreaking to watch a longtime favorite fall this far in service, quality, and hospitality.”
