“My wife and I are lifetime locals and we ate here for the first time today and it was great. We had the fish tacos and the cheeseburger which we ate off of each other's plate to try them both. They were both delicious. Came with fries that are the home made kind. Slice a potato, fry it with the skins on, finish with salt and pepper. Really good. Had the shrimp appetizer which was also good. I had the Kingston old fashioned, smoked. It was really good. I could have easily had 2 or 3 more of them if I wasn't driving. We will be back for sure.”
“The Grouper Sandwich was perfection! I had it blackened and it was well seasoned and cooked perfectly! My husband had the Black Miso Cod and he enjoyed trying something different, the flavor was spot on. Our server, Aubrey did a fabulous job (even while juggling training someone new). We went on a Saturday night and didn’t have reservations but I do recommend it because we were just able to get in and a larger party that came in later wasn’t able to be seated. The only hiccup was it took a bit to get a waiter after we were seated but I think it was because we didn’t have a reservation. We let the hostess know and she was so kind and apologetic and was quick to let our server know they had an extra table. The rest of our dinner service was flawless! We hope to visit again when we’re in town.”
“I ordered the Through the Pines cocktail, ceviche, and the shaved prime rib sandwich. Everything was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked! I’ve traveled extensively through Central America, so I have high standards for ceviche .This one was a pleasant surprise. Fresh, well-balanced, and with a nice kick. Definitely recommend ordering it. The shaved prime rib sandwich was seasoned perfectly. My only note is that it was dressed a bit too heavily for my preference, though the quality and preparation were excellent. Service was attentive, food arrived quickly, and prices were reasonable for the quality. I was hoping to try the octopus but later learned it’s only available during dinner which gives me a reason to return. Overall, a polished lunch experience. I look forward to visiting again for dinner on my next trip.”
“10/10 From Miami worked in the industry my whole life won a Michelin star with a restaurant group in Miami . Came to ellejay for a weekend escape from the big city , stumbled upon this Gem Whiskey & Waters let me first start by saying what a beautiful restaurant a block away from the Main Street with a back patio that you can bring your dogs , they’re selection of bourbon whiskeys & ryes are next level , are server was Andrea a sweet southern charm was very nice and helpful the whole time taking care of us recommended some great dishes local beers & Hats off to the Chef Marty Ebberly what a stud that guy is simple ingredients DONE RIGHT ! With an explosion of flavors . Will come back to GA just for this restaurant and the vibes of this town”
“I don't often leave poor reviews, but with the higher prices on the menu, I expected an elevated experience, but it was subpar instead. The claims in the chowder were over-cooked and rubbery in texture. The roasted potatoes were very under-cooked, nearly raw in some instances. Very disappointing. We also arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen started taking orders so they wouldn't give us a table, but put us at the bar. They were not busy at all. No reason for the dishes to not be top-noch.”
