Italian beers and cocktails further express the markers of quintessential Italian culinary tradition: restraint, pure ingredients, balance. While still being the same at its core, il Casale Lexington offers something different from its sibling Belmont location in its celebration of Southern Italy, specifically the family’s roots in the Campania region. The menu showcases classic sfizi and the fresh pasta dishes that Chef Dante has become known for, while introducing new selections of Neapolitan street food, baked pasta and authentic seafood dishes that are prevalent in the Campania region. The space is as warming as the cuisine with rich tones juxtaposed against classic Italian country furnishings made from reclaimed barn wood and rustic metal ambient lighting pendants. With an open kitchen clad with imported hand painted tiles from Vietri that evoke the blue glow of the Amalfi coast. A vintage map of the Campania region fills a floor to ceiling wall that is at the end of an 18 seat Carrara marble bar. The professional staff will welcome you with that warm Italian style hospitality---this is home.

“Charming spot on Mass Ave with an authentic feel and good to match. Have been here several times and whether it’s a solo visit or a group of 12 like this week is always excellent. Good service that does not feel transactional, they treat you like a guest. Very nice wine list with good options and prices for every budget. The food is the star- great appetizers, an extensive menu of traditional Italian dishes with good gluten free and vegetarian options. The desserts are equally on point. A really excellent choice, one of the best in the area.”
“I enjoyed having lunch here on a Sunday, with live jazz music. Beautiful and elegant interiors, comfortable seating, clean and spacious restrooms. Very good service, they also provide WiFi which I needed to work on my laptop. Only four stars for the food because the portion was small and the prices were high. Most of the bread was inedible since the crust was too hard ; that may be authentic Italian but not helpful when you’re hungry. Very good experience overall 🙂👍”

“First time coming here during the parade in Lexington. Service was amazing super attentive and helpful. Sat right away since it wasn’t that busy. The bread and oil were amazing to start with. Food took a bit but once it came out it flew off the table as well. Plates stood no chance, the pasta tasted fresh and the cutlets for the kids were made to perfection. Would definitely need to come back if we’re ever in Lexington.”
