“Maguro Sushi Thai Ramen, located at Coolidge Corner in Brookline, is an outstanding Japanese-Thai restaurant (“Sushi-Izakaya-Thai Kitchen”). There appear to be three serving phases here. Aside from their regular service (generally 11:30 AM to 3 PM) a buffet option is available from 4 to 10 PM. On Sunday through Tuesday they stay open late until 1 AM, and during this phase (which begins anywhere from 10 to 10:30 PM depending on how long it takes to clear out and clean up after the buffet crowd) they go with a straight up Thai menu and feature Thai music entertainment. It is very important to look at their hours of operation, plan, and call ahead for the required reservations. On Mondays and Tuesday they go with first come-first serve, so don’t delay because you won’t get in otherwise. My lady and I tried to wing it twice - and failed - before we finally got it right on a Tuesday night. This place is extremely popular, and for good reason; the food and atmosphere are amazing. If you think that service is slow, consider the waitstaff workload; everyone is working hard to keep up with the demand. The atmosphere is outstanding, especially during the hours of music entertainment. When we were here Bonga Bang Band was playing what sounded like mostly fun Thai pop sing-alongs. I can’t speak to parking but Maguro is within sight of the MBTA Green Line (C train) Coolidge Corner stop. For appetizers we had Chicken Wings and Yum Salmon, and for mains we enjoyed Fried Whole Fish (Tilapia) and Crying Tiger Larb, all of which was most excellent. Highly recommended.”

“We tried the all you can eat premium sushi (only on Monday’s and Tuesdays). It cost $70 pp. It was a mad house so be prepared to wait 20-45 minutes for a table. The sushi was decent quality, especially the fatty tuna. Skip on the wagyu nigiri- was just alright. Each person is allowed 4 uni rolls. Overall, worth a visit to try their all you can eat.”

“There’s a late-night authentic Thai food open Sunday–Tuesday after the regular restaurant hour. We went there, and I’m glad we did. The food was delicious and very authentic—it felt like eating Thai street food in Thailand. The prices are very reasonable as well. If you want to try late-night Thai food, I recommend making a reservation in advance to secure your seat. There was live acoustic music too. It’s a great place for a night out with friends.”
