Amano - Caldwell

“We went to Amano first for my husband’s birthday. We were both excited to try it as we have both heard about how wonderful it is. It turns out we went the same night as the holiday lights seasonal display opening. Parking was tricky that night for sure. We loved it so much, we took our daughters back during the Christmas break. We have now tried most of the things on the menu. All of them fantastic. We would highly recommend Amano to anyone! Growing up in Caldwell myself it was really cool to see the little town that I knew transforming into such a wonderful destination location. Go anytime, but the holiday lights really add to the experience and make it a magical evening.💕”

“My friend told me about this place and totally hyped it up. I was expecting a stuffy stuck up place, but I had a gift card so we went. Boy was I wrong. The food was amazing! The service was excellent! I had the Ceviche Verde. I was skeptical at first, but the flavors work well and it was more than enough food for an entre. The home made or "amano" chips were perfect and crispy. My husband had the Short Ribs and he loved it! The meat literally fell off the bone. It was so smokey and the tortillas were delicious. The salsas were perfect and not to hot. Good amount of food too. Bridget was absolutely amazing. We wanted or needed for nothing. She anticipated our every need. She really was amazing, but it was so good to see that they were a total team in there. I will surely be back. Can't wait to try everything on the menu! The only reason atmosphere got a 4 out of 5 was because the tables were so close that I could hear my neighbors conversations. Lol. Juicy stuff. J/K.”

“Definitely 5 stars. This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience. Jonah provided outstanding service. Chef welcomed us to see where the meats are cooked over a fire pit out back. Cocktails were well balanced and high quality, food was incredible. Tried several things as I was with a large group and we ate family style. Biggest highlights were esquites (street corn) and guacamole on appetizer section and birria and mole negro for mains. For cocktails enjoyed El Don & Conchinita. Would return without question.”

“We sat at the bar and received great service and enjoyed watching the bartenders work their magic! We had the esquites and tortilla chips go start, and they were absolutely delicious! Entrees came quickly and were both beautiful and tasty! My chile relleno was flavorful in a delicious broth, and the potato cakes that accompanied it were the highlight of the dish for me! My dad had birria tacos and they were very good and full of meat. I’m so glad a friend recommended this place, it was the perfect spot for upscale dining as we passed through town. And I’m especially grateful they had room for us at the bar!”

“Very good food and a nice atmosphere. A little light on portion size and definitely overpriced. Nearly $30 for a Chile Relanos, it was good but not $30 good. The Chile Colorado was excellent unfortunately there was not much of it. Our server was outstanding. I did find it interesting that the server pre selected 26% for a tip right before he handed the hand held scanner to me. Go check it out, you may like this place, myself I will probably not be back for some time.”
