Melfi’s is an Italian restaurant in the North Central neighborhood of Charleston.
“The Calorie Caravan rolls down the Charleston tracks with my husband at Melfi’s for some fresh pasta of the highest order, featuring Suppli (classic Italian fried rice croquettes from the Rome region, typically consisting of tomato risotto stuffed with a core of gooey mozzarella cheese), Bucatini (cacio e pepe with parmigiano reggiano, pecorino and cracked pink & black peppercorns, and Paccheri (with a hearty duck ragu, topped with freshly shaved parmigiano reggiano). Carbs of the world, unite. Everything was excellent! I would highly recommend.”
“Absolutely make the reservation. The food, service and atmosphere on a Friday night was perfect. The fat and dirty martini was one of the best I’ve had. The fresh pasta was also amazing.”
“Dining at Melfi’s was nothing short of unforgettable. The moment we walked in, the smell was absolutely intoxicating—I turned to my husband and said, “This isn’t just dinner, this is going to be an experience.” And it truly was. We started with the arancini and bruschetta, both incredible, and a slightly spicy Caesar salad that completely changed the game for me. I am officially ruined when it comes to Caesar salads—the Calabrian chili breadcrumbs were next-level and something I’ll be thinking about for a long time. For mains, we had the bucatini cacio e pepe and the osso buco, and every single bite was outstanding. There wasn’t a single dish that fell short—everything was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Don’t leave without dessert and an espresso martini—they are the perfect ending to an already exceptional meal. I’m 50% Italian, and my paternal grandmother immigrated here from Italy as a child, so I like to think I know good Italian food. This was easily in the top three Italian meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. 10/10—an absolute must.”
“The food was amazing and the service was great! Our server went above and beyond too. We got the plum dessert that he swapped a celebratory prosecco for some moscato that paired perfectly with the dessert. My only small complaint is that it was noisy, but not horribly loud. It’s a small place, so to be expected.”
“This was our first visit to Melfi’s and we went on our anniversary. The staff made it such a nice evening to celebrate and even offered a prosecco toast for each of us. The service was great, atmosphere was perfect, and the food was incredible delicious (especially the Bianco and the pasta). We can’t wait to come back!”
