Scotty Doesn't Know Speakeasy is a Cocktail Bar restaurant in the Ansonborough neighborhood of Charleston.
“I love love LOVE this place! It’s one of my new favorite spots in Charleston. My fiancée and I came for a little romantic vacation, and we love speakeasies, so we found this place on YouTube and it DID NOT disappoint! 5 stars!”
“For drinks we ordered the Tiramisu Martini, Paper Crane, New Year, New Me, and Black Manhattan. They were all really good quality and very tasty! Wasn't disappointed with any of our choices. Also ordered the small Charcuterie Board, size was perfect for 2 people to share for just a snack. Would probably need the larger size if more people or if the 2 people were especially hungry. Service was great and you just need to flip the light switch to let the server know if you need to order. The place is charming and especially nice for small groups or couples. If you are interested in cocktails, wine or just a more intimate social drinking experience than a normal bar, this place is an excellent choice. Definitely recommend reservations since space is limited.”
“Such a great find. IT's exactly as I expected. We happened upon it on google maps and were a little weary to "flip the switch" without a reservation. Luckily we were early enough and it was a Thursday so we were able to get in. It is really a great experience. It feels like a real speak easy must have felt like. Unmarked door, no handle but when you get in, its very nice and comfortable. wish we would have discovered it earlier and visited more than once.”
“What an awesome and truly unique experience. I’ve been to speakeasies all across the country, and the fun thing about them is that each one feels a little different. This one was no exception. It’s very intimate and very small, with a creative concept and fun, unique drink options. There is essentially one bartender who creates the menu and runs the entire experience, and she is absolutely amazing. You can tell how much care and skill goes into everything she does. What really sets this place apart is how private it feels. Silk dividers separate each seating area, so even though you’re in a speakeasy, it feels like it’s just you and your party. That privacy makes conversation easy and relaxed, almost like having your own hidden space. I highly recommend it. Definitely make a reservation, because you won’t get in if you just show up. If you do, settle in and enjoy the experience.”
“Definitely a chill place to experience. Service is great. You have to turn on a light switch to get in so a little secretive. Love the music as it is very relaxing. Different but check it out. It's a little different.”
