“Came to grab dinner with some family, service and food were great! Minor complaint is the booths and seats are very low to the ground which is fine for most people but can cause problems for people with mobility problems. I had the salmon burger and it really hit the spot! Good portions and I had the smashed potatoes as my side and they were very tasty!”

“Sat at the bar last night and Noah was our server. He was on top of everything, refills, great drinks, delicious food. He was a really nice casual guy, which we appreciated in a higher end kind of place. Very personable and hard worker. The bar was busy and he still made sure we were always taken care of. The crab cakes were nice and meaty with a really great sauce to dip in. I had the filet kabob and it was super tender and juicy, no fat, no grissle, cooked perfectly. The meat is cooked in a sweeter sauce, similar to teriyaki. We will definitely be back. It's pricey, but it's quality cuts of steak that you can't get at just any place.”

“The food is always so good at J Alexander’s. I’ve been here many times over the years but today’s dessert was worthy of special mention. The deconstructed banana cream pie was spectacular! Graham cracker crust in a bowl, banana custard, chocolate, sliced bananas and covered in a caramel sauce with shaved dark chocolate. See picture attached.”

“Stopped in for a quick dinner. The service was incredible. On point, friendly and professional staff. I ordered a signature salad with salmon. The salad base was delicious and fresh. The grilled salmon was perfect! All the way around outstanding.”

“J Alexander's offers an impressive ambiance with a standout bar area that sets a sophisticated tone for your dining experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating, though the management seems to be lacking in certain aspects of customer service. The drinks are a highlight of the visit—expertly crafted and enjoyable. The deviled eggs are a nice touch, though they may be a bit too sweet for some palates. Unfortunately, the food experience was a letdown. The prime rib was notably bland, lacking any significant seasoning or crust, and was dry. The steak, initially served rare and cold, was returned for correction but only to be reheated, resulting in a burnt exterior while the center remained cold and undercooked. Overall, while the restaurant excels in atmosphere and drink quality, significant improvements are needed in food preparation and management to justify a return visit.”
