“We always enjoy working with the Clipper Inn! Their team is professional, attentive, and a pleasure to have on-site. The food is consistently excellent, and they do a wonderful job creating a great experience for both couples and their guests. We always look forward to working with them and would gladly recommend them for any event!”
“Excellent menu, unique choices which I enjoyed, like frog legs, escargo, liver patte lots of seafood, rack of lamb. They make all their salad dressings in house”
“Very old school place with a vintage style dining experience. Red table clothes and the traditional glass salad plates and decor on the walls really reminded me of great seafood restaurants in the 90s. This place is huge and they have a lot of food to choose from. The specials were all really good, I got a seasonal special perfect for the late summer/ early fall time of year. It was a shrimp risotto with corn and pumpkin seeds. I wasn’t sure how it would go together when I ordered it but I trusted the chef and I wasn’t disappointed! Our waitress was super nice as well and accommodating the whole night. Definitely recommend if your vacationing in Clayton or the thousand islands region!”
“Had reservations for 730pm and we were seated promptly and greeted warmly. It was a chilly night but we sat on the patio and it was perfect. Plenty of heaters! We had the steamers in the sherry and garlic for appetizer and it was delicious. Make sure you save some of the warm, crusty bread to dip in the sauce! Our meals came with a salad which was just the right size and had a nice variety of vegetables with spring lettuce. Plus they chopped it nicely...hate when you are served giant chunks of iceberg lettuce! I had the lemon seafood pasta special and my husband had the halibut. Both were generous servings and perfectly prepared and plated. My pasta was just the right al dente..only negative was I would have liked a little more seafood. The shrimp were tasty but small. Dessert was key lime pie which had the traditional graham cracker toasted coconut crust and had the right amount of tart lime. Plus it came with extra whipped cream. The service was exceptional! Just the right amount of time between courses and always attentive on our beverages. Miles and Amber were fantastic and we will definitely be back again!”
“I wouldn’t particularly recommend this spot for a couple’s night out. When I arrived, the receptionist didn’t seem very welcoming, which set the tone a bit. I had booked the reservation for a friend’s birthday and added a note requesting a candle on a dessert, but it seemed that message didn’t reach our waitress. When she asked about dessert, we decided to skip it. We were seated between two small tables divided by a lattice-style fence, which didn’t offer much privacy, and there were a few empty martini glasses left nearby the seat. The food and atmosphere were just okay, and overall, I felt the experience didn’t quite match the price point.”
