“We had a delightful first visit. Great service Great food Interesting wine list with lots of eclectic choices. The calamari, and arancini should not be skipped. Warm olives and bread, delicious salad, crispy chicken and pastas were outstanding. Managed to squeeze in desserts to share and both were very good.”
“Went for Christmas lunch with my office team. The ambience was nice. My husband and I ordered Crispy Chicken Piccata and a fish dish—both were very good. We also had tiramisu for dessert. Friendly staff and a great experience overall.”
“The atmosphere was so nice in the food was absolutely incredible. It’s one of the best Italian restaurants at Halifax downtown. This is the closest thing that you will get. I ordered the Vongole little neck clam. The clams were so juicy and the coming out of it was sub-lime. My dad ordered the chicken and it was also so juicy the crispy bread on top was cooked to perfection. Nonalcoholic options and their Italian soda, which they make the syrup themselves is also so unique every single time. Overall for any occasion, whether you’re with your family friends are on a date night.”
“Amazing! First, the service was so good. We went for a small girls night and our waiter understood everything we needed. She had a lot of knowledge about all the options on the menu. I had the lemon drop martini all night at her recommendation! The food was awesome. The calamari was my one of my favourites in Halifax. It stands out because it is saucy! The pasta (Tortelloni) was super creamy and packed with flavour! I’m still obsessed with vodka sauce so I love having it any chance I get. All the dessert were amazing! We all got a different one to be able to try. The lemon tart was my definitely my favourite! I would highly recommend!”
“Food and wine list were both excellent, and they accommodated our large group which was nice. Despite this we did have two minor issues with our experience at Mappatura. The first is one of our servers (a male server) was honestly just too close and made physical contact with several of the ladies in our group. He reached around one gal to hold the debit machine that was almost like a backwards hug? (It’s hard to explain). He also had his elbow nearly on the head of another (touching her hair but not her actual head) and again from behind, stood in a way so that his stomach/belly area was fully resting on the shoulder of a third member of our group. I really do not think he meant anything by this and it did not feel harassing in anyway, but it was just bizarre and made us uncomfortable. Personal space and general spacial awareness go a long way, especially when he was a stranger to us all. Additionally as we were a large group we were sharing many dishes as well as bottles of wine… we did not realize until the meal was over that they are unable to split items among different bills. We were able to do the math ourselves and etransfer each other so it’s really not a huge deal, but it is just common practice at most restaurants now we were a bit surprised they were unable to do it. Overall great food, but I think a little friendly reminder to the staff about personal space would go far :)”
