“Everything about this place is great! Food is really delicious, super affordable for lunch. Recommend the mortadella and chicken sandwiches. The view of manhattan you cannot beat. Staff is super attentive and they have my favorite wine, sancerre. Their espresso martinis are very good as well!”

“I'm embarrassed to admit that after living in Jersey City for 8 years, I've only recently tried Battello for the first time and my oh my have I been missing out. Not only is the atmosphere stunning with views of Manhattan right on the water, but the food is incredible. I came here as a walk in on my birthday, and although the staff wasn't aware it was a special occasion (until dessert), they treated us phenomenally which is truly a testament to their standards for service. Everything we ordered was amazing, I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Do yourself a favor and go to Battello!”

“This was my first time visiting this place. I discovered it while searching for restaurants with a great ambiance. The atmosphere was beautiful and made for a very enjoyable evening. The food was decent overall. I especially loved the octopus appetizer, and the desserts were excellent. The main course was good, but it wasn’t the highlight of the meal either. I visited to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be a lovely experience. One of my favorite dishes was the Tiramisu. It was incredibly soft and melted in my mouth. Overall, I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the experience. The ambiance, and service made it a special evening. I would definitely consider visiting again.”

“This was our second time celebrating a special occasion at Battello. Last summer for our anniversary, we were seated at an inside corner table and noticed how great the outdoor views were, so we realized we needed to be more explicit next time. For this visit, I planned ahead and made the reservation three weeks in advance to reserve a spot for a birthday, explicitly asking for outdoor seating. The person on the phone explained they couldn't promise a specific table but confirmed they added a note for both the "outdoor table" and the "birthday." We arrived on a Tuesday night at 7:20 PM (10 minutes before our reservation). The greeter was about to assign us to a corner table again. When I asked if we could sit outside for the birthday celebration, she flatly said no, offering only the corner table or an inside table close to the outdoor area. We took the table by the door. Once seated, I noticed “two empty 4-person tables and a 2-person bar table outside”.I initially assumed they were being held for larger parties. However, shortly after we sat down, a single female diner was seated at one of those outdoor 4-person tables, and a couple was given the other one. It felt incredibly inconsistent and frustrating to watch smaller parties get those exact outdoor tables right after we were told it wasn't possible. We still stayed and ordered appetizers, mains, and cocktails. Despite having the birthday noted in the system and mentioning it to the greeter upon arrival, there was no special offer, complimentary cake slice, or acknowledgment of the occasion. Given how weird and frustrating the table situation was, we didn't expect much anyway, but it just added to the disappointing experience. Inconsistent seating management ruined what should have been a great birthday dinner.”
