Casa Susanna is a Mexican restaurant in the Leeds neighborhood of Leeds.
“What a find! We are staying at Camptown because Food & Wine magazine gave them a quick mention in their travel issue. An onsite restaurant specializing in Jalisco food? How lucky are we! Every part of our meal was special, from the expertly crafted cocktails to the main event. We left wanting the same exact meal tomorrow, but there is so much more to try. The ambience of the restaurant is special, the staff is welcoming, professional, and so good at guiding newcomers. It’s hard to give it enough superlatives.”
“an unassuming restaurant in the catskills with a beautiful interior, great menu, and delicious food. we were impressed by every dish and every dish that came out topped the next one. we tried: seasoned pear, beef tartare (one of my favorites of the night), tlacoyo, chochoyotes (didn’t know what i was eating but delicious), pork belly, barbacoa (would come back for this), and tamal de cajeta (my first sweet tamale). next time we want to come back for brunch!”
“Very different, unique take on mexican food. Rare items and creative combinations. Patient waiter described every dish to us, and accommodated my dislike of initial drink. We had all the 5 vedura dishes, 2 masas, and the monk fish as a family of 5...Had leftover. Oh yes and both desserts were huge hits! Beautiful decor/ vibe as well.”
“Weekend trip to the Catskills for wedding planning, looking for a couple of nice dinners. Found Casa Susanna listed many times for great NY eats and its didn’t disappoint. The masa program here is turning out some incredible tortillas and tamales. Recommend all of the masa dishes. The smoked lamb barbacoa is incredible and the pork belly tamal is ridiculous. Both just melt in your mouth. The interior is warm and comfortable. Eat in the lobby area if it’s winter, you’ll have your meal basically by the fireplace. And the service is top notch, Chef Hernandez served and explained many of the dishes himself, he seems such a friendly person. Overall, this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in NY to date and also one of the best restaurants in NY, regardless of cuisine. Just a great experience, wish this pace was closer to home!”
“We went here for Valentine’s Day brunch and fell in love with the flavorful delicious Mexican food. We had great service and the atmosphere was cozy. Gluten free options are available and heirloom corn tortillas are also made in house.”
