“While on a business trip to Long Beach we decided to try Rasselbach—even though we are from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and can have German/Pa Dutch fare anytime! But we were so glad we did!! It was all so delicious! We started with potato pancakes but they were thin and soft and dressed with applesauce and dill—so refreshing compared to Grandma’s (shhhh!) We each had the two seasonal sangrias that were light and fresh. The schnitzel was perfect, so thin, tender and crispy! And the potato salad—must have side! And that sauce on the bread pudding was heaven! Highly recommend! The decor and murals were also fun! Only complaint was the restroom—not sure if there was an issue or if it’s always that wet/unclean but other than that, it was a great experience!”

“Absolutely phenomenal! So many different beers and we tried many! They all tasted different, but my favorite was hacker pschorr weisse. The food was amazing! We had deviled eggs and potato pancakes for appetizers. The deviled eggs were normal until you dip them in the sauce and it changed from normal to wow. The potato pancakes were okay, but they fry them in the same fryer with everything else so i couldnt enjoy them. The Brussel sprouts were out of this world good. Everything was delicious and totally recommended for yall the try!”

“Wanted to try a place that serves German food. In a Facebook post there was a list of 10 German places that you need to try and Rasselbock was on that list. Being that it's not too far from my house, I decided to have dinner there on a Sunday. Now we arrived there around 5:00 p.m. and it was not busy. Very easy to get a table and the service was great. I decided to try one of their seasonal beers and my wife ended up with the hefewiezen. There are several great items on that menu. I went with the Bavarian Beer Braided Pork Shank and my wife got the bratwurst. Both were very good. The pork shank was served over mashed potatoes with this really delicious gravy. It was so tender that you didn't even need the knife to cut it. It what's so tender and just fell off the bone. The red cabbage was surprisingly tasty. It was sweet and just added to the flavor of that pork. I added red cabbage to my order as a side and in talking to the server she agreed that it should be part of the dish just because it goes so well with it. For dessert we ended up getting the bread pudding which was served with ice cream over a berry mix. It was strawberries and blueberries with a berry syrup. The bread pudding was interesting because it looked like a puck but very flavorful. The ice cream went well with it all together. I would order it again. I will definitely be back to this place just because I want to try the other food that was on the menu and the different types of beer that they serve. If you get a chance and are in Long Beach, please check this place out. Parking is on the street or behind the building so you'll make a right on Carson and then into the parking lot in the rear.”

“Street parking as well as some behind the restaurant. We went for Sunday lunch around 130 PM and had no issues with seating. Sausage platter, kraut, pork shank, Brussel sprouts, flight of beer, and dessert --- all tasty. Waitress was super friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.”

“We stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday and were promptly seated on the outdoor patio. The setting is pleasant, relaxed, and welcoming, making it a nice place to linger. We enjoyed a Warsteiner Pilsner, a consistently excellent beer from a family brewery in central Germany and a fitting choice for the menu. I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel, which was very well prepared and generously portioned, accompanied by roasted Brussels sprouts (excellent) and roasted potatoes with bacon. The schnitzel itself was thin, nicely cooked, and had a satisfying crunch, topped with a flavorful mushroom gravy. My only note is that while the gravy was quite good, it wasn’t fully traditional German in that it lacked the subtle wine note found in the Jäger schnitzel we’ve had in Germany. My partner had the goulash, which was also well made and enjoyable, though it didn’t quite reach the deep, rich complexity of some more authentic versions we’ve experienced. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant as one of the few places in the area offering genuinely good German food in a pleasant atmosphere.”
