Dune 18 Restaurant

“Dinner tonight at Dune 18 was absolutely outstanding. We were lucky enough to enjoy their prix fixe menu — and sadly for anyone reading this, tomorrow is the last day for it! The appetizers alone were worth the trip. The shrimp tempura was probably the best I’ve ever had — perfectly light, crispy, and flavorful. The arancini tasted incredibly fresh, the PEI mussels were delicious, and their special artichokes were honestly crazy good. The salad course completely spoiled us for ordinary salads forever. The spinach salad with hard-boiled eggs and warm applewood smoked bacon vinaigrette was unbelievable. We also had the beet and baby greens salad with roasted beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, apples, and honey balsamic vinaigrette — so fresh and delicious. For entrées, we tried the grilled pork chops with braised apples and onions, which were juicy and cooked perfectly. The chicken cordon bleu was excellent, and the curly shell pasta with Comté cheese, mushrooms, peas, and black truffle zest was so good that we were genuinely upset we were too full to finish it. Dessert did not disappoint either — New York cheesecake, churros, and vanilla ice cream. Pairing the creamy vanilla ice cream with the churros was perfection. The atmosphere has a very cool “small house” vibe with beautiful filament lighting hanging from the ceilings. It was a little loud at times, but the energy fit the space well. Our server, Christian, was fantastic — attentive, knowledgeable about every item on the menu, and excellent with recommendations (all of which were spot on). This is definitely a restaurant where reservations are needed, and it is absolutely worth planning ahead to get in. We were also lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the new menu launching this weekend through the end of June. I was thrilled to see both the spinach salad and beet salad are staying! The upcoming menu also includes classics like filet mignon, sea scallops, chicken française, and shrimp. This place is one not to miss, and I really appreciate Virginia getting us in tonight!”

“I had the absolute best dinner at Dune 18! From start to finish the food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. As someone who is lactose intolerant, the staff did such a great job helping me navigate the menu. You won’t regret visiting!!”

“Great restaurant just across bridge in Ship Bottom. Great food and great specials with both indoor and outdoor seating. BYOB. I find the overall quality of food here to be great but it is on the pricier side. Would compare it favorably/similarlt with Raimondos (similarly expensive), Azzuri (slightly less expensive) and Stefanos (much less expensive) — all great restaurants on the island.”

“My family came over Memorial Day weekend for a family member's birthday. It was a reservation for 15 people - we understood they were sitting us outside due to space but the weather was terrible with wind and rain. We were told there was a covered patio with heaters - we lucked out with an awning above us but no one called to mention that the side panels for the awning weren't set up and all but 2 heaters didn't work (1 heater was over at another table, braving the storm). We were getting dripped on, our shoes were in puddles under the table and frankly, the food didn't exactly make up for it. One of the kids at the table ordered salmon and it was completely raw. This review doesn't exactly reflect the wait staff since they were trying to make the best of it with what it seems the owner allowed them to - besides my mom getting olive oil spilled on her which at that point was comedic relief. The owner came out toward the end as if he was saving the day and as if we were having a great dinner - thanked us for coming then his overconfidence and small jokes about the weather didn't leave any room for us to complain before he escaped back inside to the warmth. He was blissfully ignorant to our frowns and multiple wet coats everyone was wearing. No reconciliation was offered. It was overall a disappointing experience”

“As a follow up to the previous review. We have celebrated a birthday here for the last 4 years. It has always been ok.. this year was horrible. The owner did nothing to make the situation better and came over to complain about his day. No thanks for coming in and braving this weather, no so sorry the set up is not as promised.. no let me take something off the bill. The food was lack luster and the chicken and shrimp was so bland. Over priced at best! For someone who owns a business.. customer service is what keeps you in business. Epic fail here! The wait staff was great, but the owner should have tried to rectify the situation. For a party of 15, that was a large bill. I will not be returning”
