Quiet chef and owner, Marshall Blair, has kept this neighborhood corner in Silverlake cozy and small for 20 years. American-Italian dinner spot- we make the pastas everyday, bake the bread in the mornings, and our pizzas are delicious. We use local and mindful ingredients. We make pretty much everything from scratch. Our wine selection is special from biodynamic to the great wines we drink at home. We also make our plates and bowls at our pottery studio. We love sharing what we love with you.
“Had to weigh in after seeing 2 recent reviews because our experience at Blair’s has always been outstanding & worth the drive from the Westside for many years. The vibe is great, every single staffer has always been friendly & helpful. Great menu and wine list. It’s wonderfully cozy inside & the outside patio is great on a warm night. One of us is vegetarian, okay not vegan, and always had great choices & no attitude on asking for a meat component to be left out of a dish. Some advice, if you’re that strict of an eater, best to check the menu before making a reservation. It’s a great place & very reminiscent to us of the friendly neighborhood restaurant in our native Manhattan.”
“Came here for date night. Sat in dinning room by window. Small dining area but they also have outdoor dining as well. For warm LA nights probably all good. Service was very good. Waiter was very helpful and made recommendations on the menu. The food was very good and delicious. Nice comfortable vibes. Will definitely be back.”
“Service is good! For food: chicken which was overly salted , peppered and dry;( pasta w shrimps was fine. The garlic fries are good, the bread w salted butter is ok. White wine was great!”
“This restaurant is such a cute spot with a great vibe. It is perfect for a casual dinner or a relaxed night out with friends. The atmosphere felt cozy yet stylish, and you can tell there’s been care put into the details. The highlight was definitely the pasta. All the pastas are handmade and had that authentic, fresh texture you just don’t get everywhere. Our group especially enjoyed the spicy ones. They had a great kick and were well-balanced in flavor. The non-spicy options were decent, but a bit more on the plain side by comparison. The pizza was also solid, nicely done with a good crust and fresh toppings. One thing that stood out (in a slightly odd way) was the service. While the staff was friendly, they seemed eager to clear our plates the moment we finished a dish. It felt a little rushed, like they were trying to turn the table quickly, even though the place didn’t seem overly busy. Still, we had an enjoyable time overall. Good food, a great vibe, and a nice little spot to unwind. Would come back, especially for the spicy pasta dishes!”
“I have driven past Blair’s on Rowena Ave SO many times and always thought it looked classy with a nice, relaxed vibe. Let me just say… do NOT judge a book by its cover. I made a reservation ahead of time and even showed up early, only to be seated and then completely ignored for a full 10 minutes. And no, it was NOT busy, so there was really no excuse for that kind of neglect. When our server finally came over, things somehow got worse. My girlfriend is vegan, and instead of being accommodating, the server acted completely inconvenienced. She couldn’t answer basic questions and had to get the manager, who came over with a condescending attitude and zero willingness to help. After way more back-and-forth than should ever be necessary, my girlfriend tried to order a simple pasta with red sauce and vegetables… only to be told that it wasn’t up to the “chef’s standard.” Seriously? Since when is accommodating a basic dietary request beneath a restaurant? Eventually, the manager had to go speak directly with the chef just to make a basic vegan pasta happen. Meanwhile, when it was my turn to order, I asked for a dairy-free pasta option and you would have thought I asked for something completely outrageous. The server actually lectured me about “not customizing everything” and stormed off to get the manager AGAIN. Round two with the manager was just as bad—passive-aggressive, dismissive, and clearly irritated by simple requests. At that point, I honestly felt like I was being pranked because the level of customer service was THAT ridiculous. When the food finally came out, the server checked on us in the coldest, most unfriendly way possible. No warmth, no professionalism—just attitude. Overall, I was genuinely embarrassed for bringing a family friend here. What I expected to be a nice night out turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. On a Saturday night, you’d think a place like this would have personable, attentive staff. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the truth. ABSOLUTELY. Would not recommend.”
