“We enjoyed the Bone Marrow , Brussel Sprouts with spicy sausage, brioche with peppers and butter for starters. Our entrees were Diver Scallops and Tagliatelle with shrimp. Both were delicious.”

“Nice Italian restaurant in Long Beach. They have great food and specials on oysters on Mondays. Both dishes that we had were excellent. They have patio seating and indoor seating. Parking can be a little tricky in that area, so be prepared to circle the block a few times. Worth a visit.”

“We got the shrimp salad and gnocchi to go. Both were excellent and they were able to accommodate dairy free for both dishes. Portions are a bit small for the price but the quality makes up for it.”

“I came here for the first time a few weeks ago to catch up with a friend over brunch, and we had a great experience! The Food: Since my friend and I couldn't decide between quite a few dishes, we ended up ordering family style and sharing everything. - Melon and Shrimp Salad: YUM. Bursting with flavor, refreshing,, and perfect for summer. - Crab Toast: please see attached pic - just look at that generous serving of jumbo lump crab! I am quite the crab enthusiast, and this dish fit the bill. The meat was so succulent and fresh, and I really enjoyed the bread they used. - Bolognese Benedict: this dish caught my eye on the menu, as I've never had this flavor combination together. My friend was a bit indifferent about this one, but I really enjoyed the contrast between the savory sauce and slightly sweet rolls. Ambiance: We opted to sit outside since the weather was so lovely. While I enjoyed the sunshine and breeze, I wish they had more shade umbrellas to fully cover the entire patio. We were also constantly swatting at flies that were trying to land on our food, which ended up being quite distracting. I'd noticed that some other tables had fans to keep flies away, so we ended up asking for 2, which did help resolve the issue. Kind of odd that it wasn't automatically offered to us, though. Parking: I'd read other reviews beforehand and was a bit apprehensive about the parking situation, but the parking gods were in my favor that day, and I found free street parking about a block and a half away on a weekend afternoon. Thank goodness! Overall, I had a wonderful experience and devoured all of the scrumptious food. I'll definitely be back, though I think I'll opt for an inside table next time!”

“Been wanting to come here for awhile and finally went for my birthday this week. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It was Monday so they had a prix fixe menu for their “Monday supper.” There was two of us and the server explained that it’s two shared appetizers and a shared pasta and then each person gets their own entree. Which now that I think about it is kind of strange. The portions are definitely small. Especially to be sharing. Of the two apps we had I only liked one. The roasted corn salad. Which had five of the tiniest pieces of pork belly I’ve ever seen. They were the size of my thumb nail and almost just as thin. But it was definitely delicious and the most notable thing of the night. The second app was supposed to be burrata but it was honestly just somewhat stretchy soup with no flavor or texture whatsoever. The toasted bread it came with though *big thumbs up* Next came the biggest disappointment. After reading all the great reviews about Ellie’s pasta. This was such a bummer. We got the Chittara. On the description it says mussels and clams. Emphasis on the plural bc we only got one clam and basically one mussel cause the other 3 shells were empty and we couldn’t find anymore in the pasta either. The pasta itself was hard. I love an al dente pasta but this was just completely undercooked and the sauce, oh boy! It was entirely TOO salty. My date who usually eats saltier than me made the comment first and he’s such a sweet guy he never criticizes food even if there’s hair in it. Lastly we wanted the lamb but they were out so they subbed it for steak and we both decided that sounded good. However I think the sauce and the roasted sweet peppers they paired it with would’ve gone better with the flavor of lamb. I did scrape the sauce from my steak though because it did not leave a great taste in my mouth. Overall my experience with Ellie’s was such a let down. And I’m sorry to be writing this review because honestly the staff was great and very sweet. But frankly the food was not good especially for how much we paid. Glad I experienced it but definitely won’t be coming back”
