At Kismet, chef-owners Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson are cooking bright, fresh, vegetable-loving, Mediterranean-inflected California cuisine. Food & Wine Magazine named the duo Best New Chefs soon after opening, and Kismet earned a James Beard nomination for Best New Restaurant nationally, as well as a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and ranks among the city's best on the LA Times 101 best restaurants list. The restaurant's understated decor and cool-casual experience allows you to focus on the flavorful and creative food alongside the approachable natural wine list. Kismet is open for dinner everyday from 5 to 10pm, and for brunch on weekends from 10am to 2:30pm.

“I really loved this place! We had the cauliflower and the phyllo pies as starters, and they were both delicious. The cabbage steak is also definitely worth trying! Its sauce, the fruit and chestnuts were far beyond my expectations, and it was incredibly filling as well!”

“Everything was great here. From the atmosphere, the food, the service. Food was so flavorful. My favorite was the crispy potatoes. The only downside is the parking. If you have to park around the block, don’t walk alone, as the area is very sketchy. Stick to the main street.”

“Too long on the to do list, we finally could not resist to go there, and there was no reason to regret. Sitting on one of the outside tables despite still rather chilly temperatures, the heaters made it very pleasant and the noise level was substantially better than on the inside. The server was very knowledgeable and humorous. Most importantly, the food was outstanding, from fried cauliflower, phyllo pies, sweet potato, panroasted rock fish (rather than vermillion), malawach flaky bread, and for dessert a cardamom semifreddo. “Chicken leg had a great sauce. The cardamom dessert was excellent. The olives were tart and flavorful. The atmosphere is excellent for a 2 person dinner. One person (possibly the chef) was extremely pleasant in helping us order additional items towards the end of the meal.”
